🌞 A strong month for solar energy in Ireland

May showed just how powerful solar can be, with the sun supplying up to one third of Ireland’s electricity at peak times, an incredible step forward for clean energy.
This highlights the rapid growth of solar since 2022 and the increasingly important role it plays in our energy mix.
Combined with wind, renewables generated nearly half of Ireland’s electricity in April, demonstrating real progress towards a more sustainable future.
As investment and innovation continue, Ireland is in a strong position to unlock even more potential from renewable energy and build a resilient, low carbon energy system.
