Yesterday marked a strong start to our Women’s Workplace Wellness Community Advocacy Programme, led by Anne-Marie Swift, MBA in partnership with NIRWN. 🤝

We were pleased to bring this first session to Cookstown 📍 a key hub for the rural community - and were met with a fantastic turnout of highly engaged, proactive participants. Thank you to everyone who attended for driving such thoughtful, open discussion.

Creating a workplace culture where women never feel they have to manage health challenges alone requires real commitment, clear policy, and practical advocacy.

A Reflection on the Women 5.0 Journey 📝🪞

As the development of the Women 5.0 Digital Competence Framework comes to a close, it's a good moment to reflect on what we've learned from women entrepreneurs across Europe.

Through surveys, focus groups, and stakeholder consultations, one message came through clearly: women entrepreneurs are eager to embrace digitalisation, but they need learning that is practical, relevant, and directly applicable to their businesses.

Participants shared a strong interest in topics such as AI, digital marketing, content creation, automation, financial management, cybersecurity, and data analysis. However, the conversations went beyond technology. We also heard about the importance of confidence, resilience, creativity, and having the mindset to adapt and innovate in a rapidly changing digital world.

These insights shaped the Women 5.0 framework, resulting in a learning pathway that combines both digital and entrepreneurial competences. By aligning with the European DigComp and EntreComp frameworks, we've created a structure that supports women at different stages of their digital journey while remaining practical, accessible, and focused on real business challenges.

One of the most valuable lessons from this project is that bridging the gender digital gap is about more than teaching digital skills. It is about empowering women with the confidence, knowledge, and support needed to turn technology into opportunity.

A huge thank you to all the women entrepreneurs, educators, trainers, policymakers, and project partners who shared their experiences and expertise. Your contributions have helped create a framework that we hope will support women-led businesses to grow, innovate, and thrive in the digital economy.

We're excited to see the impact of Women 5.0 and to continue supporting women entrepreneurs on their digital transformation journey.
