We had a brilliant day at the Solar & Storage Show last Thursday in Naas.
Great to catch up with our favourite wholesaler, Midsummer Renewables Ltd, and to have some exciting conversations with EcoFlow about what’s coming next for the EcoFlow PowerOcean System — including expanded battery storage options and the 2nd generation of PowerInsight.
We also checked out new flat roof mounting solutions from K2 Systems GmbH and had a great chat with our preferred flashing experts, Roof Solutions.
The Hypervolt team were onsite showcasing their chargers (no convincing needed there!), and AIKO shared that 480W panels will be landing in the Irish market within weeks.
It was also fantastic to see new technology in action — including sodium battery innovation from Eleven.
All in all, a great show packed with innovation, good conversations, and plenty to look forward to in the months ahead.

Southern Solar since 2017 in Ballincollig and 2019 in Castlemartyr.

Often we're asked is a battery worth the additional cost, in the graph below you can see the battery being charged at 2am on the EV plan, cost is about 6.5c per unit.
The green above the line is the battery subsidising the home as the morning use was higher than the production.
As it brightened up, solar production in yellow, the battery topped itself back up.
Then all evening the home ran entirely off the battery.
This home has not had a single bill to pay in more than 18 months, previously the bills were circa €175 - 185 per month & is sitting on almost €500 credit....
