📣 Registrations Are Now Open for e-Learning for Change

Generation for Change CY is happy to announce the launch of the new cycle of e-Learning for Change, offering free online Greek and English language classes for adult migrants and refugees. The classes will focus on practical language learning for everyday communication, including introductions, daily life, services, work, and social interactions.

📚 Available Classes
🇬🇷 Greek Language Classes - A1 & A2
For adult migrants and refugees living in Cyprus

🇬🇧 English Language Classes - A1 & A2
For adult migrants and refugees living in Cyprus and in other EU countries
The classes will run from June 15 until August 7, 2026, with sessions taking place twice per week for a total duration of 34 teaching hours. The courses will be delivered through interactive online classes, and certificates of participation will be provided to participants who successfully complete the course.

✨ New Project Announcement✨

We are absolutely honoured to have been announced as one of the successful recipients of funding under the Communicating Europe Initiative 2026!

This is a hugely important year for Ireland as, between July - December 2026, Ireland will hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union - an opportunity to help shape discussions and priorities across Europe.

Through this funding, Blackwater Training will deliver our new initiative, Europe Starts Here, bringing conversations about Europe, community, citizenship, and participation directly to local people here in County Cavan 🌍🤝

The project will include:
📚 A public seminar series
🎤 Community dialogue sessions
🎥 Storytelling and digital media activities
🏛️ A final public community event exploring Ireland’s role in Europe and the impact of EU policies on everyday life

We are particularly excited to engage with the Latvian community in Cavan as part of the county pairing initiative between Cavan and Latvia during Ireland’s Presidency.

💙 What a fantastic day at our Community Health Fair in Bailieborough Courthouse on Friday, 22nd May 2026.

Organised by Blackwater Training through the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration Integration Fund, the event brought together 18 organisations supporting health, wellbeing, inclusion, and community participation across our local area. 🤝We had more than 150 people attend our event.

We were delighted to welcome Minister Niamh Smyth, Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, to the event and to showcase the incredible work being carried out by community organisations across Cavan and the surrounding region.

From mental health supports and family services to wellbeing initiatives and smoking cessation advice, the event highlighted the wide range of supports available within our community. 🚭

We were also delighted to welcome members of An Garda Síochána 👮‍♂️ and sincerely appreciate their engagement and support throughout the day.

Most importantly, the event created a warm, welcoming, and positive space for people from all backgrounds to come together, access information, ask questions, and connect with services in the community. 🌍✨

A huge thank you to every organisation, volunteer, attendee, and supporter who helped make the day such a success. 🙌

Blackwater Training is currently expanding its ESOL Tutor Panel to support the delivery of English language programmes for migrant communities across Ireland.

We are seeking experienced tutors with:

✅Level 7 qualification
✅CELTA (or equivalent)
✅Minimum 1 year teaching experience
✅Experience delivering online and face-to-face classes

Teaching opportunities will arise throughout the year depending on programme delivery and learner demand. Classes may take place online, in community settings, and through outreach delivery.

Experience working with adult learners, migrants, refugees, or multicultural groups would be an advantage.

We are looking for 3 participants to join the Erasmus+ Training Course “Who Taught You Your Gender?” taking place in Braga, Portugal from 23rd - 30th May 2026.

This international training course will bring together youth workers and educators from across Europe to explore:

✨ Non-formal education methods
✨ Youth work tools & activities
