Today is a day Irish farmers will remember for a long time. Whatever way the vote goes, let it be remembered that we stood together — north, south, east and west, beef, dairy, sheep, tillage, young and old. Remember the dawn starts, the long days, the generations that broke their backs on this land so we could still farm it. We are not bargaining chips or numbers on a page we are the backbone of rural Ireland. When decisions are made far from the fields, remember this moment. Stand firm, stay united, and never forget the strength we have when we stand shoulder to shoulder. 💚🐮💛

As we close out 2025, I want to say thank you to the people who truly made this year possible.

To my family—thank you for the constant support, patience, and belief behind the scenes. Your sacrifices carried this year more than you know.

The processing unit is coming on nicely this week.


We decided to keep the roof flush with the steel to maximise space and make cladding the exposed steel areas more straightforward, helping us achieve a high-grade finish throughout the premises.

We’re very happy with the progress so far, especially considering we have limited experience in steel fabrication. That said, there’s very little a farmer won’t try their hand at.

🚀 MAKING HISTORY IN FARTHA, CAVAN! 🚀
Ireland and the UK’s first ever snail-processing facility is finally becoming a reality — right here at home!

After years and years of red tape, research, and saving every spare cent, we’re finally seeing real progress. I can’t even explain how ecstatic I am. What an absolute privilege to be able to build this ourselves from the ground up.

I’ll be keeping yee all in the loop as things move along, but honestly… sometimes it’s hard to even grab the phone when you’re sooooo eager to keep working — especially now that we’ve sourced every bit of material we need.
The excitement is REAL. 🐌💪

Here’s a little before and after from the bottom end of our snails paddocks.

The old hedge had become a haven for rodents and slugs, and there was no way to get machinery in during harvest season. So we cleared out the rotten sections, reinforced the bank, and started laying in a proper channel with a top layer of quarry dust.

Not only will this make access so much easier, but it should also help deter rodents — and definitely slugs!

To finish it off, we planted a fresh evergreen laurel hedge sourced from Adam at Hedging.ie who we’ve been dealing with for many years. Highly recommend them! 🌿

I’m sure the wildlife will make great use of it for years to come.

More progress made, and another job we were able to tackle ourselves! 💪🌱🐌

We began this qualifying journey slow and uncertain, inching forward like the little snail… but with heart, grit, and belief, we found our wings. By the end, we were soaring like the parrot — fast, fearless, and full of Irish pride.

This team showed what it means to rise when it matters most.
