Community-Led Biodiversity Plans
There is now funding available specifically for communities to draw up their own biodiversity plans. The funding requires working wih a local ecologist to get an accurate picture of your local habitats and resident species.
While I am not an ecologist myself, I can offer facilitiation in putting together your plan, for example by bringing together different groups and organisations, and by discussing what each group can do to enhance biodiversity in their area. On reaching concensus on who will carry out which tasks, I can put together a community-led action plan for you. Take a look at the funding application here.

The Community Foundation for Ireland is the first Community Foundation in Ireland, part of a global network of 1,800 community foundations.

Happy New Year everyone!
Have you made your new years resolutions yet? If not, can I suggest that you resolve to spend your training and planning budgets on fulfilling your Public Sector Equality and Human Rights Duty, otherwise referred to as 'public service duty'. I can offer staff training on Equality and Diversity, and Disability and Equality. I can also offer an equality audit of your small organisation, and/or help you and your colleagues to develop an equality plan for 2018. Here's a reminder of who should comply, and what the requirement are. And you know, even if you are not duty bound to comply, promoting equality is always a positive thing for any organisation.
