Lovely to be at the opening of Lisa O’Grady’s first solo exhibition at My Place in Midleton yesterday.

Lisa is a self taught East Cork artist whose work in acrylics and oils captures so much of the colour, movement and atmosphere of the local coastline.

A beautiful exhibition and a great opportunity to see her work in such a unique space in the centre of Midleton.

The gallery is open Saturday 10am to 3pm, Monday 10am to 5pm, Wednesday 10am to 3pm and Thursday and Friday 10am to 5pm.

A big thank you to Dr. Eric Kelly for a brilliant presentation this evening on Stress Overload Syndrome (SOS) managing stress and nervous system health for entrepreneurs and for so generously hosting the event.

There was plenty to take away from the session, but what resonated with us the most was how easily stress can become part of our normal routine without us really noticing it.

The discussion around fight or flight, the connection between stress, sleep, energy and posture, and the importance of giving our bodies time to properly switch off was really interesting.

We also liked Eric’s point that small, consistent habits matter. Better sleep, regular movement, quieter moments and simply paying more attention to the signals our bodies are giving us can all make a difference.

A really interesting evening and plenty to think about. Thanks Glanmire Chamber for another great event

Thank you to John Corbett of Glanmire for asking me in my role as Chairperson of to say a few words this morning at the opening of this new AIB branch in the Crestfield Centre.

“This move is a simple but important development for the area. Better access, easier parking and a more convenient location for customers, who are already coming to the centre as part of their day.

For local businesses, those small practical details matter. They save time, reduce friction and make it easier to get on with running the business.

From the Chamber’s perspective, we welcome investment that strengthens the local business environment. A strong banking presence plays an important role in supporting growth and confidence across the community”.

Congratulations to the AIB team on the opening of your new “home” here in the heart of Glanmire.

Have you visited Bell’s Field lately? If you’re from Cork, you’ll know those iconic panoramic views of our city, the River Lee, and beyond.

I recently brought my niece there while she was visiting from the UK over Christmas. Looking down from that height, you gain a true sense of the sheer scale and beauty of the city, a perspective that’s impossible to get when you’re rushing through the streets from one meeting to another.

Business is no different. Before you get fully immersed in the day-to-day rush of the new year, take a moment to step back from the “street level” noise. An external pair of eyes allows you to:

✅ Ask the difficult, necessary questions.

✅ Identify opportunities you might be too close to see.

✅ Gain the clarity needed to achieve your 2026 goals.

Don’t overthink it, sometimes the best move is simply to gain a better vantage point.

Message me or schedule a call today to start the year with a fresh perspective.
