The Parents' Council provides a forum for parents on school matters
- our purpose is to assist the school Board of Management, principal and teachers where possible. The Scoil Réalt na Mara Parents’ Council page has been created with the following intentions:

To assist notification of Parents’ Council Meetings and share meeting notes. To act as an online noticeboard for school news for

parents. To assist communication with parents and offer them an opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions

The Scoil Réalt na Mara parents’ council is a voluntary group of parents working to assist the school Board of Management, principal and teachers in any way necessary to ensure OUR children have the best primary school education possible. The Parents’ Council meetings and events are YOUR opportunity to make a difference in how the school is run and contribute personally to its success – It is only as effective as the people involved make it! One of our main functions is to dream up and implement fundraising events for the school, we are also a forum to discuss your thoughts and ideas with the school management at our monthly Monday evening meetings. Fundraising has unfortunately never been more important due to governmental cutbacks and Ireland’s general economical state. The Parents’ Council endeavors to raise funds to assist the school with their basic (and continually rising) oil, electricity and other day-to-day amenity and school expenses. Anything we manage to raise over and beyond these requirements will go directly back to the children as new school equipment, subsidized school trips etc.. So the more active WE are has a direct effect on the quality of YOUR childrens' primary education. The Parents’ Council also wishes to unite all the parents of Scoil Réalt na Mara, assist in communication between the school and the parents and very importantly… we NEED YOU to help put the ‘FUN’ back into FUNdraising! Please ‘Like’ our page and pass it on to any other parents you might know are on FB and we hope to see more of you at the monthly meetings and taking part in YOUR council.

The Easter Bunny (a.k.a. Mrs Bunny!) made a surprise visit and brought along a basket full of sweet treats for everyone 🍬✨

Smiles all around and a little extra magic in the air—thank you, Mrs Bunny, for making the day so egg-stra special! 💛🐣

A big, big thank you to all the kids from Scoil Réalt na Mara, Ballycotton, who joined in our St. Patrick’s Day walk this morning! ☘️
The children had a fantastic time and brought great excitement to the event. It was wonderful to see everyone taking part and enjoying the morning together.
A special thank you to Maria and James, and to the Coast Guard, for doing a fantastic job driving ahead of the kids and helping keep everyone safe. Your support meant so much.
Also a thank you as well to the teachers, Mary and of course our Mascot Foley for joining in the craic this morning and helping make the event such a success.
And finally a very big thank you to all the neighbours, family and friends who came out along the route to cheer on the kids this morning. Your support and encouragement meant the world to them, and it really helped make the morning extra special. The kids were delighted!
Everyone had a brilliant time — thanks to all who took part and helped make the morning so memorable. ☘️

☘️ St. Patrick’s Day Walk ☘️
Scoil Réalt na Mara will be celebrating with a special walk through the village on 16th March at 9:15am, starting from the bus stop by the pier.
(Weather permitting)
We are inviting all local residents to come out and cheer on our fantastic boys and girls as they take part in the celebrations. Your support will make the morning extra special for them! 💚

The Parents Council would like to wish all the children receiving their Confirmation tomorrow a truly wonderful and memorable day. A small treat was delivered to the school earlier to help mark this special occasion. We hope you all enjoy it! A very special thank you to Breda Paul for baking those fabulous cakes, they are greatly appreciated.

🍰✨ Bake Sale Success! ✨🍰
Last Saturday we held a bake sale in support of Scoil Réalt na Mara, and we were absolutely blown away by the fantastic support from our community!
Thanks to everyone who baked, donated delicious goodies, and came along to support us on the day, we are delighted to share that we raised a whopping €750! 🎉
We truly appreciate each and every contribution — it made all the difference. Thank you again for your generosity and support! 💙
