The minor pentatonic scale is the most ubiquitous scale in modern electric guitar music. I would guess around 75 to 80 % of all classic rock guitar solos are based around this important sound.. A great place to start for any aspiring electric guitar student.

Ukelele is a great instrument for kids to start with as the fret board is small and it's relatively easy to make chords. Also it's not too loud!! Parents will appreciate. You can pick up a Uke for not very much money online.
