This bespoke gasket request needed to be carried in by forklift. 👀

A customer brought this large galvanised steel pipe joint to us so we could measure it and manufacture a gasket specifically for the job.

Our gasket expert Thomas McCarthy was the man for the job. 🙌

💧 Application: Water
⚙️ Material: 3mm black EPDM
✂️ Cut on our ATOM machine
⏱️ Manufactured within 5 working days

We measured the joint and produced a bespoke gasket to suit, getting the customer sorted.

It looks like we did a good job, because the customer came back with another one that was even bigger! 😅

Our gasket sample boxes have been a big hit with customers, so Thomas McCarthy was giving Fergal a hand getting the latest batch packed up and ready to go.

Everything was going smoothly.

Thomas drops them ❌

Thankfully, our gaskets are made of tough stuff. 😂

The answer is… a bushing! 👏

Did you guess it right? 👀

A bushing is a sleeve that sits between or over moving components, helping to protect them from impact and everyday wear and tear.

Put simply, the bushing takes the punishment! It’s much more efficient and economical to replace a bushing than the main component it’s protecting.

Bushings come in a range of materials, including metal, bronze, polymers and composites, depending on the application.
