🌡️ Don't rely on appearance alone when checking if meat is cooked. 🌡️

Were thinking ahead to all the BBQ's coming this weekend in the office today, and the common misconceptions around them. Notably being that if meat looks cooked, it's safe to eat.

In reality, colour isn't always a reliable indicator. Factors such as lighting, marinades and cooking methods can all affect how meat appears.

A food probe thermometer takes away the guesswork and helps ensure meat has reached a safe internal temperature before serving. Always aim for 75°C.

Foodborne Illnesses crop up most during the summer, so keep yourself and others safe by ensuring you cook your meat correctly.

Do you use a food thermometer when cooking on the BBQ?

FSAI Enforcement Orders - March 2026

Last month The Food Safety Authority of Ireland issued
- 12 Closure Orders
- 2 Prohibition Orders

Theses orders were issued as a result of
- Pest Infestations
- Poor hygiene
- No handwashing
- Incomplete HACCP systems
- Lack of traceability

These are serious but preventable issues yet they continue to be a common cause of enforcement action.

Our team is available to support you in ensuring the highest standards of food safety, traceability and quality management are in place at all times.
