There was no stone left unturned on Saturday evening in the Kingsley Hotel for the Network Cork "Business Woman of the year" awards, which is a testament to the input and effort from President Higgins, Awards coordinators Dr. Siobhan Lucey & Sue Nelson and their committee.
A highlight for me was the wonderful Mary Crilly, founder of the cork sexual violence center achieving the Presidents award- an accolade that recognises an individual for their exceptional contribution to our community.

Esther McCarthy brought her wit and wisdom to her role as MC ensuring that the evening flowed flawlessly.
The craic was mighty at table #13 and I was chuffed that Change Grow Succeed was recognised as “Highly Commended” on the evening! A wonderful evening of celebration and connection, big congratulations to all winners on the night and wonderful to catch up with some friends from Networks west cork and Cork Chamber too.

At some point, busy became a badge of honour — but this January has been a powerful reminder that constant motion isn’t the same as meaningful progress.
In my work with high performers (and in my own life), I’ve seen how rest can get mistaken for weakness, when in reality it’s the foundation for clarity, resilience, and real leadership.
This Friday, consider reframing recovery: rest isn’t the reward for pushing harder — it’s the prerequisite that sustains performance, wellbeing, and connection.
Read my latest short blog to learn why time in recovery boosts your resilience:

Why Recovery Is Not a Reward, but the Foundation That Sustains Us At what point did being busy become something to aspire to? Alarm clocks, emails, mental to-do lists, school runs, deadlines, groce…

It was a pleasure to attend Qualcomm’s event to celebrate their latest expansion; an investment of €125 million and up to 300 new jobs for Cork. This announcement took place in the inspiring in on Friday.

Among the key messages on the day was the importance of attracting and investing in a talented and diverse workforce to fuel this growth.
At Change Grow Succeed, we are proud to play our role in supporting this agenda by partnering with Qualcomm in the provision of bespoke integrating training workshops and 1:1 coaching to individualise learning.

We’ve been trying to tackle the world’s hardest problems with only 50 percent of our collective brainpower. We need all the best ideas, and the most courageous and authentic leaders, to tackle the challenges ahead. If this resonates, have a read of my latest blog:

This mornings' business breakfast with Cork Chamber Business School featured the inimitable Maggie Cusack, President, Munster Technological University

Passionate about education, learning and collaboration, and with a mindset that favours opportunities over challenges, she shared the 'raison d'etre' of MTU: to serve the region by being globally competitive, to support entrepreneurship and above all, to collaborate with businesses and enterprises, local interests and the community.
As a mum to a first year MTU student, I feel very encouraged and reassured that he will benefit from a world class education- the future is safe!

Thanks to the team at Cork Chamber, RDJ LLP and The Kingsley for partnering on this lovely event. Great to meet friends; old and new!

I've been a proud business owner for almost a decade now, so, was excited to attend the Local Enterprise Office 10 year anniversary in the Everyman Theatre on friday and wow! This event certainly packed a punch!

We had the benefit of hearing from 2 x stellar panels, expertly MC-ed by Healy and the following were my key take-aways:

1. Manage self- doubt by owning on your strengths and by doing the simple things well
2. Who do you surround yourself with- are they radiators or drains?
3. Reflect on how you respond to disappointment - how do you 'get up after a fall'?
4. Learning & Growth are key cornerstones in building resilience in performance in both life and business
5. You don't need a title (or an armband!) to lead - you are what you do, not what you say you'll do
6. Diversity in teams is important- a team of specialists will always trump a team of generalists (Roy Keane had a great anecdote to support this)

As someone who has hugely benefited from the support of the Local Enterprise Office South Cork - it was a joy to attend. Thanks to Niall O'Keeffe and Martina Casey for organising. The auditorium was buzzing (and the tanora and taytos were a lovely touch!)

It was also lovely to meet up with so many friends old and new!
