Thank you to everyone who joined us to mark 40 years in business, family, customers and friends alike. It was a great day at the office, with time to talk to the people who've been part of the journey and take a moment to look back on how far things have come.

It was great to have LMFM in with us on the day too.

When my father, Seán, started SPM in 1986, he set out to do one thing well: give people advice they could trust. 40 years on, that's still what we're here for.

Financial planning is a marathon, not a sprint, and reaching 40 years while the business keeps growing tells me we've held on to that. It's not just something we say to clients when we ask them to take the long view – it's something we've proven by staying the course ourselves.

Here's to the families who've trusted us this far, and to the next 40 years.
