⚡⚡⚡⚡Proposed increases to the Minimum Annual Remuneration (MAR) for employment permits, originally scheduled for January 2025, have been postponed pending a review. The MAR is the minimum annual salary required for issuing employment permits and was increased in January 2024 as part of a roadmap outlining further increases through 2026.

The January 2024 adjustment aimed to address a growing gap between the MAR and average earnings in the State. However, rising business costs since then prompted the department to review the roadmap to ensure future increases support both stability for employers and permit holders. To allow time for this review and for employers to plan accordingly, the January 2025 increases have been deferred.

An exception applies to Health Care Assistants, Home Carers, and Care Workers, whose MAR will rise to €30,000 as planned in January 2025. This adjustment, previously deferred, has been communicated to the sector and is outside the scope of the review.

👉Since January 2024, the Citizenship division has completed eVetting for over 12,600 individuals. All pending files from 2023 and earlier have been sent eVetting links. Unfortunately, some applicants have not responded to these links.

If you have received a link but haven't filled it out, please do so as soon as possible, as the Department of Justice cannot process your application until this step is completed.

If your application is from 2023 or earlier and you haven't received an eVetting link, please contact customer service at [email protected] with "2023 eVetting request" in the subject line.

If you have already completed your vetting, please do not resubmit it, as this will cause delays.
