I asked just one question:

According to official guidance from the Irish Foreign Ministry

If you are:
1️⃣ An Irish citizen at the time your child was born,
your child may be entitled to citizenship by descent, even if they were born outside Ireland.

There are two main routes:

If you were:

* Born in Ireland, or
* You acquired Irish citizenship before your child’s birth,

your child may qualify for Irish citizenship directly via Certificate of Nationality, followed by an Irish passport.

This applies even if your child has never lived in Ireland.

The Government of Ireland has approved a series of updates to strengthen migration, asylum, citizenship, and family reunification rules. These reforms aim to create a clearer, more consistent framework that aligns with how other non-EU legal migration routes already operate.

🔹 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀

• The citizenship residency requirement for refugees will increase from three to five years, bringing it closer to the timelines applied to other long-term residence categories.

• Family reunification applicants must now show sufficient financial resources and suitable accommodation, similar to existing rules for legal migration routes such as CSEP, GEP, Stamp 0, and other non-EU pathways.

• Asylum applicants in state accommodation who are working may be required to contribute proportionately to accommodation costs.

• New provisions allow the State to revoke refugee status or residence permissions in cases involving security risks or serious criminal convictions.
