BUSINESS EVOLUTION

I couldn’t be more excited to share this video with you and officially open the gateway to the next chapter of my ever-deepening and ever-evolving work.

In Irish, the words that are bubbling in me to describe how I am feeling are…

“Tá sceitimíní áthas orm.” Translated, this means that I’m feeling an electric kind of excited happiness.

I have often heard myself describe these times as being “intense, immense and transformative.”

This has certainly been the truth of my experience over the past year and a half as I felt both myself and my business being forged anew … time and time again.

So much of my previous work fell
away. Programmes shape shifted completely. So many layers of
conditioning and old patterns have been shed. I have done so much dreaming and I have been dreamed over and over.

At times it was pure creative force and flow and at times it was overwhelming, fear-inducing and exhausting. Because it was ever-changing.

But May I …
And May We …

Never stop deepening, growing, unfolding and emerging into who we have been dreamed and destined to be.

We ARE on the threshold of something new.

May we continue to dream and create it together.

knows me and knows my work, you’ll understand how synchronous it was to find this song to go this video, because my work has long been infused by the wisdom and energy of this Emerald Isle of Ireland. And once again she is
supporting me now in the emergence of this new dán, this new dawn of
leadership.

THE POWER OF WEAVING NEW REALITIES AND FUTURES WITH BRIGID

We've been invited to vote for a new public holiday in Ireland to honour the people who kept society and the economy going during the pandemic and I want to spotlight a petition by , and for it to be in honour of Brigid, timeless Celtic Goddess of Fire, Inspirational Poetry, Fertility and Soul Smithing (amongst other things). She is also the matron Saint of Ireland but to date, does not enjoy a fitting national ceremony or a public holiday to celebrate her enduring power.

Brigid's name, like so many Irish words, is imbued with meaning and potency. Her name comes from the words Breo Saighit, meaning fiery power or fiery arrow. Using the alchemy of fire, she lit an "inextinguishable fire" at her dual monastery in Kildare and was a keeper of the eternal flame, which burned for hundreds of years, symbolising the enduring light and warmth of the human spirit and soul.

The photo image here is a signed copy of world renowned ’s beautiful illustration of Brigid which hangs with love and pride in our home. It was a prize gifted to one of my sons, age 8 then, by Jim himself and Melanie at Herstory, when he won a colouring competition of Brigid during COVID.

Brigid was an original thresholder being born on the threshold of a doorway bridging the inner and outer worlds and also born at the sacred time between the night and the dawn. As an embodied Celtic Goddess of polarity, she worked with the elements of fire and water and also became a bridge (Brigid) between the Christian and Celtic worlds.

It feels to me that we could invoke her alchemical fiery power now more than ever as someone who can help us to cross the threshold between the old crumbling world and the new and support us in birthing new realities and weaving new futures.

GROUNDING THE SEASON OF THE AUTUMN EQUINOX IN LIFE AND LEADERSHIP: THE CELTIC LEADER SERIES

Today in the northern hemisphere, it is the celebration of the Autumn Equinox or Cónacht an Fhomhair in Irish. In the Southern Hemisphere, it is the Spring Equinox or Cónacht an Earraigh. While each opposing Equinox activates different energies and leadership opportunities related to its specific position in the Celtic calendar, they both offer two parallel invitations:

1.PAUSING FOR COMPLETION
The Spring Equinox marks a pause between Spring and Summer. The Autumn Equinox marks a pause between the Autumn and Winter. Often known as the final harvest, the Autumn Equinox marks the end of the agricultural work that began at Springtime (season of Imbolc). Autumn equinox is also the final season of the Celtic year and it is a time for final celebration and pausing. One cycle is complete and requires a pause before the next can truly begin. You only have to look at nature to see how she mirrors this. Each cycle, whether it is death, planting seeds, rebirth or growth is vital and is needed. Each cycle has its purpose and completes itself fully before another can begin.

HOW CAN I GROUND THIS NOW?
How often do you pause consciously to fully honour and complete a cycle in your life (e.g. rite of passage like childhood to teenager) or in your work (a purposeful programme launched; a website finished; or months of insights, learnings and capacity building because of these Covid times)? Rarely, if ever do we pause to acknowledge, celebrate and complete.

So, during this season we are invited to practice taking more purposeful pauses for completion. By doing this, we can disrupt our conditioned and mostly unconscious pace of ‘continuously on’ and ‘rushing to the next thing.’ When we pause instead for completion - whether it is scheduled reflection, a ritual or time off to process, digest and be in nature - we choose to suspend time, slow down, observe the thresholds, honour who we are and all we learned or achieved. Through pausing intentionally, we complete the cycle and then move on with clarity into something new or the next phase of that project. [Cont. in comments]

SWEET 16

Happy 16th Anniversary to the lovely Phil, to ‘my’ lovely Phil and to us.

My Dad read this poem at the end of his wedding speech 16 years ago today. I hung it beside our bed. I see now that it was a potent blessing for an empowered and beautiful relationship. It was an invocation to embody the healthy feminine and masculine energy in our marriage. It has infused and guided our lives ever since - Thanks for that Dad.

So, here are the words from Khalil Gibran, Sufi poet (and my Dad 😉).

“When you become present, that’s when you become empowered.” Fiona Fay

Today marks the 5th anniversary of the passing of a soul friend, Fiona Fay. What a light she was. You can see it and feel it from this photo.

We first met in 2005, through our then HR work, but drawn together by some bigger, synchronistic invisible force. We had both experienced awakenings into who we were at a deeper level of consciousness and spirit and I suppose that hunger to learn more is what drew us together. We supported each other to awaken even further. Back then we spoke daily. We wrote together, dreamed together, learned together, had such fun together and grew together. She taught me how to connect deeply into the present moment and into my own innate power and lifeforce. She taught me how to see energy in nature.

When we were together, we conjured magic.

She was truly ahead of her time and returned to the light. Today I want to honour that magic, her light and beauty, her twinkling eyes and sparkling sense of humour.

Today, I miss and honour Fiona Fay.

FEELGOODFRIDAY SERIES #15 – QUIETUDE

This week, I ignited and activated a feel-good partner to work with, an inner state to balance me alongside the unexpected shifts and changes that were happening in both my work and in my energy.

I had my week planned out. I was ready to go. I knew the next steps I wanted to take. I had it all lined up. Or at least I thought I did. The energy however from that deeper source of knowing within me, had other plans.

So, as I started to work on my tasks, nothing felt right. My energy was off. The flow was gone. I felt like I was being drained rather than being charged up, which is how I feel when I am taking aligned action. I felt like all the pieces of my work and energy had been thrown up into the air and I didn’t know when or where any of them would land.

But how could that be? Wasn’t I aligned? Didn’t I know what I was supposed to be working on? I was confused. I held on tightly to my previous plans. I ignored how I felt and kept pushing forward on a project from last week. It felt good then, so how could it not feel good now?

Then I became aware of my energy and of what I was doing. I knew I had to listen. I paused. I stopped pushing and took a step back instead. I stroked my left shoulder tenderly, like a Mother would soothe a child and I told myself it was ok, and that all was well. I breathed a bit deeper. I gave myself some space. I trusted that the answer would emerge from within.

And that’s when “Quietude” appeared. My balancing partner in the discomfort and uncertainty. I felt her presence immediately. I'd always loved the word. Even as I said it …Quietude … I could feel her wisdom landing, wrapping a veil of soft, calming silence around me. As I opened to her she told me that my foundations needed to be built deeper so that I could rise with more connected, rooted power. She assured me that the pieces were up in the air for good reason and would remain there until I anchored down.

Are you a Visionary?

My definition of a Visionary is someone who has a dream, a spark of an idea, a vision for what a better future could look like, feel like, be like. They see a need, potential, a gap and they have a sense of what could fill it, enrich it, make things better.

Are you a Leader?

My definition of a Leader is someone who is an agent of change and an agent of the future. The difference with this kind of leader is that they have agency, that is the courage, commitment, and the consistency to make that vision happen.

Are you a Visionary Leader?

My definition of a Visionary Leader is someone who dreams the highest future and then leads themselves and that future into reality.

Why?

Because they feel called to make a difference in the world, or their world.

Why?

Because they know deep down that their dream is specific and unique to them and that their vision can and will only come into reality if they take action to make it happen.

A visionary without leadership is a dreamer.

A dreamer creates the vision in their head but without the leadership just cannot make it happen in the real world.

A visionary however WITH leadership is a potent combination and an alchemical force for good in the world. And the world needs Visionary Leaders now!

Feel Good Friday Series #14 - Bittersweet Goodness

This week was a transition week.

Both my boys (13 and 9) went back to school.

Monday and Wednesday.

Both days I broke down crying.

Heart spilling over.

Bittersweet tears.

Many times during the day.

I allowed the tears to simply flow, feeling it all so I could be present to it all. So I could hold it all. So I could understand it all. And that’s when I realised that I was feeling the bitter sweetness of the transition.

I’d never really felt bittersweetness before as acutely as this.

Bitter – I felt so sad that the summer holidays were over For Another Full Year!

Sweet – So, so, so grateful for a summer turned golden with memories.

It was tricky balancing work alongside their free time for 12 weeks! I’m not going to lie, it wasn’t all plain sailing but reminded by the words of the poet David Whyte, that summer only rolls around once a year, I had set a very conscious intention at the beginning of the summer to …

LIVE it all.
FEEL it all.
And be ALL in.
For me, for them and for us as a family.

So there it was …
The bitter and the sweet rising to the surface.
Showing me how I felt.
And it felt good to allow it.
And it felt good to feel it all.
And it felt good to know that I could hold it all.

Bitter and sweet - two sides of the same coin.
Two polarities that co-exist.
Two realities to be held.

I know this is not a big disruption and that there are events of more magnitude going on in the world, in your world right now, but this was my reality and when we can practice holding the realities and the dualities that show up, we learn to become deeper, bigger, wider so we can hold more, feel more, lead more and live more. So here's to bittersweetness and other polarities that show up to help us normalise feeling it all. Happy weekend ahead 💚

FEELGOODFRIDAY SERIES #13

I made a decision last night to get up to greet the dawn this morning. As I was drifting off to sleep, Nina Simone's words from "Feeling Good" floated into my awareness.

"It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life, for me
And I'm feeling good."

They were a message for me, an affirmation for my decision and for the day ahead. I glided into sleep.

This morning, as I walked on the beach then in the dawn light, splashing in the sea to the rhythm of the song, my state shifted again.

Every line of that song held some new perspective and power for me.

I opened to the dawn.

I welcomed the day.

I drank in the light.

I felt the breeze.

I cast my dreams and wishes out into the wide, deep awakening sea and the expansive sky.

I pulled back in my catch of feel-good feelings and sense of excitement about all the day could hold and bring.

I listened to the song over and over again, allowing myself to feel good and then feel better and better and better.

Isn't song so powerful?

A moment-changer, mood-change, state-changer, game-changer.

And did you ever notice how your subconscious mind drops wisdom bombs into your day through song? Like last thing at night, in the shower, when you turn the radio on at a particular moment or even when you become aware that you are singing or humming something to yourself. It can often be a sign to stop and notice what wants your attention, what powerful message might lie within the words, some insight or affirmation for you within the song.

This weekend, I invite you to feel good through song and if you want to feel good with Nina, all the better.

"Feelin' Good" was written by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse in 1964 but no one sings it like Nina!

DESTINED TO LEAD SERIES No. 8
Who and what is supporting you and your work?

Last week I opened a private, free online group called Destined to Lead. My intention and desire is to bring together a community of global visionaries who are destined to lead and drive change. This is a photo of my Live Welcome and Introduction video.

What people saw and felt was me.

What people didn't see were the books that I had consciously gathered under my laptop, deliberately placed there to support me.

Last week I needed support, from self and others. Last week was a week of firsts, opening a Hub, doing a Live and lots of behind the scenes things to get everything set up that I have never done before. You know what it's like when you're doing lots of things for the very first time and in a public space!

I wanted to lead myself.

I wanted to stay centred, aligned and in flow.

I wanted to enjoy it.

I wanted to be me.

So, I drew from many different sources to reSource myself.

One of them was the books and although it was a simple thing, they were an incredibly powerful Source of support for me. They represent some of the people who have inspired and supported me along my path.

Some of them are alive.

Some are supporting me from the other world.

Some I have worked with.

Some I have trained with.

Some I only know through their words.

What mattered was their energy and the source of support that I felt knowing they were there, with me.

In this world, where many of us feel the call to step forward to lead, especially in this new and emerging world, it matters how you support yourself. It matters that you also receive support.
