OK, so number six isn’t technically a mistake. But it is a mistake if you do nothing about it.
There’s no such thing as a natural salesperson. Sales is a skill, a muscle that you can learn and develop ongoing.
It feels unnatural, trying to ‘make’ someone buy something. This is why many business owners are uncomfortable with selling.
The truth is, if it feels unnatural, then you’re doing it wrong.
There is a better way and it involves you being 100% authentically you. With not an ounce of ‘salesy’ in sight.
Each of the seven mistakes has an opposite - a solution. If you can figure out and apply each solution for your business, then you’re well ahead of most of your competition and on your way to less stress, more sales and more success.
OK, so sales isn’t always easy, but it also doesn’t have to be hard. Or scary. Or salesy.
The key is to approach sales with authenticity and a genuine desire to help your customers.
When you focus on understanding your customer, providing value and offering solutions, sales become a natural part of the conversation. It's about building relationships and trust and uncovering ways you can help.
Be a helper, not a seller.
