The Duty Devotion Award recognizes colleagues whose dedication is reflected in the consistency, discipline, and sense of responsibility they bring to their work every day - qualities Kirill demonstrates through his commitment to maintaining high standards in compliance and safety.

For Kirill, effective compliance starts with structure. Keeping manuals and procedures aligned with constantly changing local and international requirements requires careful review, clear priorities, and a disciplined step-by-step approach.

“In my opinion, regulatory and procedural compliance is like a multi-layer pie: everything starts with a solid base,” he says.

That same mindset shapes his approach to ownership. In an area where multiple departments and regulatory requirements often intersect, Kirill believes clear responsibility is essential to maintaining consistency and avoiding misalignment. ✈️

His work has already delivered practical results. Introducing a regulatory cross-compliance matrix for manuals helped identify gaps ahead of multiple audits, while close cooperation with operational teams helps ensure procedures remain both compliant and workable in practice.

For Kirill, the principle behind this approach is simple: “Write what you do, do what you write.”

When speaking about the personal impact of this award, Kirill admits that it has reinforced his motivation to keep improving: “This award is confirmation that I’m doing my job well and a stimulus to strive for further improvement.”

Looking ahead, he is focused on improving coordination across manuals, reducing repeated content that can lead to discrepancies, and continuing to strengthen safety awareness across departments.

His advice to future nominees is equally practical: “Task prioritization is the key to success. Otherwise, multitasking will turn to complete disorder.”

For many aspiring pilots, the airline cockpit remains the primary career goal. But should business aviation be viewed as an equally valid career path rather than an alternative? ✈️

Business aviation offers a very different operating environment. Pilots may take on broader responsibilities beyond flying the aircraft, from flight planning and coordination to direct interaction with passengers. At the same time, recruitment can be less standardized, fleets are smaller, and operators may look for a combination of technical skills, flexibility, professionalism, and customer awareness.

“Business aviation deserves serious consideration - not as an easier alternative, but as a distinct career with different demands, trade-offs, and barriers to entry,” says Martynas Mazeika, Chief Growth Officer at BAA Training.

Aircraft that may face seasonal softness in Europe can be redeployed into markets such as South and Southeast Asia, where demand cycles follow a different pattern. By shifting capacity between countercyclical markets, we can keep aircraft working where demand is strongest and support customers with greater flexibility throughout the year. ✈️

Our subsidiary FL Technics’ recent visit to Storm Aviation was a great example of this.

During the visit, the FL Technics CEO met with the team to share the company’s strategic vision and key priorities for its next chapter. Together with the Storm Aviation leadership team, they discussed opportunities for business expansion and exchanged ideas, experience and practical insights.

It was a valuable opportunity for both teams to better understand each other’s businesses, strengthen collaboration and explore new ideas for future growth.

The Breakthrough Mastermind Award celebrates those who embrace new challenges, step beyond familiar territory and turn ambition into meaningful professional growth - qualities Yudha has demonstrated through a significant transition in his aviation career.

Moving from Structural Repairs Team Leader to RTS B1 Engineer with Boeing and Airbus type ratings, Yudha has taken on greater technical responsibility while developing his ability to solve problems both independently and as part of a team. ✈️

At the same time, he continues to draw on the qualities built in his previous leadership role - teamwork, speed, precision and accuracy - as he progresses along a more advanced technical path.

For Yudha, recognition represents both a personal achievement and an opportunity to motivate others. He is also quick to credit the people around him: “Without the support of my family and colleagues, I would not have been able to grow the way I have.”

Another new milestone for our subsidiary, BGS (Baltic Ground Services), as it begins cooperation with Airest across Kaunas and Riga airports. ✈️

The services are delivered by BGS in Kaunas and by Gulfstream Oil (GSO), a BGS Group company, in Riga.
