Asiera’s Innovation R&D Manager, Eoin Kenny, was delighted to participate in the 3rd Irish Workshop on Fibre Optic Sensing, hosted by Chris Bean at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies.
It was a fantastic showcase of innovation across the fibre sensing community, with presentations covering applications ranging from nanoscale sensing and vessel detection to seismology, storm monitoring, DAS deployments, submarine cable infrastructure, and machine learning for DAS analytics.
Many thanks to Prof. Chris Bean and the DIAS team for hosting an excellent event, and to all presenters and contributors including Yuliya Semenova, Marco Ruffini, Gearoid Walsh, Nicolas Celli, Bruna Chagas de Melo, Eoghan J. Totten, Athira Vijayan, Paddy Smith, Prof. Zili Li, Shaoqiu Zhang, Rory Fox, Ciarán Cope, Paul Gaughan, and Karin Wessel for sharing their research and insights.
It is very encouraging to see such strong collaboration and growing participation emerging across academia, industry, and research networks in Ireland and beyond.
Looking forward to next year’s workshop.
