Asiera Expands Awareness Training to Address AI-Driven Threats in 2026

Cyber threats are evolving rapidly, and security awareness training must evolve with them.

Asiera's 2026 Cybersecurity Awareness Programme has been designed around the latest attack trends impacting organisations across Ireland and Europe, covering topics such as AI-powered phishing, deepfakes, ransomware, Business Email Compromise (BEC), Microsoft Teams attacks, Adversary-in-the-Middle (AiTM) techniques, and emerging EU cybersecurity and AI legislation.

Delivered through interactive sessions, real-world demonstrations, simulations, quizzes, and phishing exercises, the programme helps employees recognise modern cyber threats and respond effectively when incidents occur. By combining practical learning with the latest threat intelligence, Asiera is helping organisations build a stronger culture of cybersecurity awareness and resilience.

Building national research infrastructure is not just about technology. It is about making collaboration easier, reducing duplication, and giving researchers better access to the tools and support they need to do impactful work.

Through EOSC.ie, Asiera is leading work to help shape a coordinated national approach to research data and services in Ireland, aligned with the wider European Open Science Cloud initiative.

The project brings together partners from across the Irish research landscape to develop practical, sustainable services that support more connected and reproducible research.

Great to see some of the Asiera team taking part in a recent community run as part of INEX's Sláinte wellbeing initiative.

Bringing together colleagues from across Ireland's research, education and networking community, it was a welcome opportunity to connect, get outdoors and enjoy the sunshine.

Thanks to INEX for organising.

Asiera’s Innovation R&D Manager, Eoin Kenny, was delighted to participate in the 3rd Irish Workshop on Fibre Optic Sensing, hosted by Chris Bean at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies.

It was a fantastic showcase of innovation across the fibre sensing community, with presentations covering applications ranging from nanoscale sensing and vessel detection to seismology, storm monitoring, DAS deployments, submarine cable infrastructure, and machine learning for DAS analytics.

Many thanks to Prof. Chris Bean and the DIAS team for hosting an excellent event, and to all presenters and contributors including Yuliya Semenova, Marco Ruffini, Gearoid Walsh, Nicolas Celli, Bruna Chagas de Melo, Eoghan J. Totten, Athira Vijayan, Paddy Smith, Prof. Zili Li, Shaoqiu Zhang, Rory Fox, Ciarán Cope, Paul Gaughan, and Karin Wessel for sharing their research and insights.

It is very encouraging to see such strong collaboration and growing participation emerging across academia, industry, and research networks in Ireland and beyond.

Looking forward to next year’s workshop.
