Make Aistear visible in your everyday practice!

A new school year brings lots of new activities, experiences and learning moments to capture and document.

Linking these experiences to Aistear the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework is a great way to show how Aistear is being considered and implemented in everyday practice – and to make those connections visible to parents too.

Our Aistear Stickers are designed to make this simple! 🌟

Simply add a sticker beside an observation or learning story and circle the relevant Aistear Aim and Learning Goal. You can use them in children’s Learning Journals or when displaying learning stories and activities on parent boards for families to see.

It’s a quick and simple way to clearly show the link between children’s everyday experiences and Aistear – making the learning behind the activity visible to parents too. 💡

Available in different pack sizes from the EY Shop.

Important First Aid Update for Early Years & School Age Care

We’re delighted to confirm that Tusla has advised Canavan Byrne that the new PHECC First Aid Essentials: Paediatric First Aid certificate will be accepted by the Inspectorate.

This means FAR is not specifically required for the purposes of Tusla compliance, where the appropriate PHECC-certified Paediatric First Aid training is in place.

However, services should remember that their Health & Safety obligations are separate. Depending on your workplace risk assessment and first aid needs, FAR-trained personnel may still be required under occupational health and safety requirements.

Canavan Byrne is now PHECC-approved to deliver the new 1-day Paediatric First Aid course.

📅 First public course: 18 September

📢 National Childcare Scheme Update

Important changes to the National Childcare Scheme (NCS) have now come into effect, with increased Income-Assessed subsidies expected to benefit up to 47,000 children.

The changes include increased income thresholds and an enhanced Multiple Child Discount, meaning many families may now qualify for a higher level of childcare support.

Families currently receiving an Income-Assessed subsidy will have eligible awards updated automatically, while those receiving the Universal subsidy are encouraged to check whether they may now qualify for a higher Income-Assessed rate.
