We’re pleased to share that the eufy Clean Robot Vacuum Omni E35 has earned the Asthma & Allergy Friendly® Certification following independent testing.

Robot vacuums are increasingly popular, partly because they can be scheduled to clean while people are out or in another room. As they become a standard part of home cleaning, independent evidence of how they perform matters more than ever.

Our vacuum cleaner standard assesses the full cleaning cycle across six areas: allergen removal from hard floors and carpet, household dust removal, airborne particles and allergens during use, particle emissions when running on a clean floor, pick-up performance over repeated passes, and particle and allergen levels during dust-bin emptying. A product must meet or exceed every requirement to be certified, and the Omni E35 did.

“The eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 met that standard by demonstrating effective allergen removal while keeping airborne particle levels low during vacuuming and dust-bin emptying,” says Dr John McKeon, CEO of Allergy Standards.

This week, we join the World Allergy Organization in recognising World Allergy Week 2026, running 21–27 June under the theme "Allergy Care Is Essential Care."

An estimated 30 to 40% of the global population lives with one or more allergic conditions. People spend approximately 90% of their time indoors, and indoor allergens, including house dust mites, pet dander, and mould, are recognised triggers for asthma and allergic rhinitis. The indoor environment matters.

Through the Asthma & Allergy Friendly® Certification Program, ASL independently tests products across ten categories, from air purifiers and bedding to flooring and paint, giving allergy and asthma sufferers a trusted, science-backed signal when choosing products for their homes.

Last month, our Asthma & Allergy Friendly® Certification Program returned to Chicago for the Chicago Asthma Consortium's 2026 Community Health Worker Educational Forum at Sinai Chicago, and we are very proud of what the day represented.

300 Resource Tote Bags packed. Educational materials and Certified partner product donations distributed. Community health workers equipped with practical tools to support families living with asthma across the city.

This is what certification makes possible beyond the laboratory. When manufacturers and brands earn the Asthma & Allergy Friendly® certification, they become part of a network that extends its impact into the communities that need it most.

World Asthma Day 2026 is here.

The Global Initiative for Asthma has set this year's theme as "Access to anti-inflammatory inhalers for everyone with asthma – still an urgent need."

The numbers tell a sobering story: • 260+ million people live with asthma worldwide • 450,000+ deaths each year, most of them preventable • 96% of asthma deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries.

Inhaled corticosteroids are essential. They treat the airway inflammation that drives asthma, prevent attacks, and save lives. But cost and availability still keep these medicines out of reach for too many people.

At Allergy Standards, we believe better asthma outcomes require both equitable access to medication and healthier indoor environments. Through the AAFA's asthma & allergy friendly Certification Program run with the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), we test and certify products that reduce exposure to common indoor triggers including dust mite allergen, pet dander, mold, and VOCs.

Allergy Standards, in collaboration with the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) has certified Mohawk Flooring’s SmartStrand® carpet styles with Pur-Ease™ technology under the Asthma & Allergy Friendly® Certification Program.

This certification represents the first treated carpet to meet the requirements of the ASP:05-03 Textile Flooring Standard and its addendum, which establish a performance-based framework for evaluating products making defined allergen-related claims.

Testing under controlled laboratory conditions demonstrated that the product:
• Achieves measurable allergen reduction versus untreated carpet
• Maintains stable airborne allergen levels during use
• Meets defined indoor air quality criteria, including VOC emissions at 24 hours and 14 days

This work reflects a broader shift toward objective, performance-based assessment of emerging technologies in flooring and home environments.
As innovation continues, independent verification remains critical to ensuring that product claims are supported by robust, transparent methodologies.

Today is World Health Day, led by the World Health Organization (WHO) .

This year’s theme, “Together for health. Stand with science.”, is a reminder of the role science plays in improving health outcomes globally.

From medicines and vaccines to indoor environments, progress in public health is built on evidence, collaboration, and the application of science in real-world settings.

Our work is grounded in this approach. Through scientific testing, standards development, and certification, we focus on how everyday environments, particularly indoor air, can impact health.

The One Health concept also reflects this interconnected thinking. Human health does not exist in isolation, it is linked to the environments we live in.
Standing with science means continuing to translate evidence into practical solutions that support healthier lives.
