Carlsberg Don't Do Conferences but EuRA Do!
Thanks to all of the organisers and sponsors of the European Relocation Association's 2018 Congress for staging another superb event in Croatia last week; attended by over 700 delegates from 57 nations.
The 2018 EuRA Congress served to highlight current international trends in global employee mobility and immigration policies and also gave delegates a great opportunity to expand their global network of partners and share experiences and knowledge from their own markets. The sunsets weren't to shabby either!!

Excellent article by Fiona Reddan of the Irish Times, which provides a current perspective on home rental v home ownership. The article comments on the fact that ownership of 1 & 2 bed apartments in Dublin has now become a cheaper option than renting in the Capital. If, as suggested, home ownership may be on the rise again, signified by a jump in the number of mortgage applications, acquisition of rental investment property would appear to be a relatively attractive proposition in Dublin in the short-medium term, or at least while the stock of newly built accommodation remains slow to arrive. Increasingly, companies with strong balance sheets relocating operations to Ireland are considering the option of acquiring residential investment properties to support the relocation of their staff. This strategy, when subject to proper risk assessment, can be significantly cheaper for companies who can afford the capital outlay required and is one way of addressing ongoing difficulties finding suitable rental accommodation in Dublin. The number of people buying rather than renting has fallen to a near 50-year low
