Nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated. Whether you’re juggling work, family life or training hard as an athlete, food shouldn’t feel overwhelming 🤯
I get it though, it’s tough to build a better relationship with food when there’s so much conflicting info out there. That’s why I stick to my 3-step approach:
Simple ✅ Satisfying ✅ Sustainable ✅
SIMPLE ✨
Learn to build your plate: protein + carb + healthy fat + fruit/veg (ham, bread, cheese, salad mix, simple as that) 🍽️
Focus on what you can add rather than what you should takeaway ➕
Rinse and repeat the meals that you enjoy and that work for you and your schedule 🔂
Keep quick options at hand (frozen veg, microwavable rice) and have 2–3 go-to meals options (breakfast, lunch, dinner)to make decisions easier 🏃♀️
SATISFYING 😋
Add more protein to what you’re already eating (bacon medallions on that morning bagel) 🥓
Load up your plate with fruit and veg- as well as being packed with micronutrients they create volume and help to keep you fuller for longer 🥦
Don’t cut out foods you enjoy- Absolutely not necessary and life’s too short for that 🍫
Play around with sauces, flavours, seasonings, and textures so you don’t get bored🧂
SUSTAINABLE 📈
Make small tweaks to your diet over time instead of trying to change everything at once 🐢
Be smart about portion sizes, it can go a long way when it comes to weight management🧆
Build habits you can stick with long term, not just for 6 weeks 🔄
Plan for flexibility (social meals, takeaways, busy weeks) 📝
Adjust as your life or goals change, your nutrition can and should adapt with you. The basics work - Remember progress beats perfection 💪
