Great conversations create stronger connections.

Yesterday, BICC hosted another successful Business Roundtable at the UCD Global Lounge, bringing together business leaders, entrepreneurs, academics and professionals to discuss one of the key topics shaping the Ireland–Brazil business relationship: tax certainty.

Moderated by Professor Ron Davies, Professor of International Economics at University College Dublin and Research Director for Skatteforsk – Centre for Tax Research, the panel also featured Peter Vale, Tax Partner at Grant Thornton Ireland, and Fernanda Zerbin and Thomas Metz, co-founders of @3035.tech.

Together, they explored the practical challenges of operating across both markets, including the absence of a Double Taxation Agreement, cross-border investment, international expansion and the opportunities that greater tax certainty could unlock for businesses in Ireland and Brazil.

A heartfelt thank you to our speakers, our host , and everyone who joined us for another evening of valuable discussions, meaningful connections and networking.

We look forward to welcoming you to our next BICC event!

Direct air connectivity between Brazil and Ireland has long been viewed as a strategic opportunity. Today, developments across aviation, infrastructure and public policy are creating the strongest conditions in years for that ambition to move closer to reality.

✈️ Speaking at the IATA Annual General Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, LATAM CEO Roberto Alvo identified Dublin as a potential future destination for the airline, highlighting the long-term potential of expanding connectivity between South America and Europe.

🏛️ At the same time, the Irish Government is advancing legislation that could remove or amend Dublin Airport's passenger cap, a long-standing restriction that has limited the airport's ability to expand and develop new international routes.

🤝 Negotiations between Ireland and Brazil on a bilateral Air Services Agreement are also progressing, creating the legal and regulatory framework required to enable scheduled direct services between the two countries.

📈 The opportunity is supported by growing demand. Approximately 140,000 passengers travelled between Ireland and Brazil in 2024 using connecting flights, demonstrating the strength of the market and the potential for direct connectivity.

These developments reinforce discussions held during BICC's Brazil Showcase 2026, where government representatives and Dublin Airport leaders highlighted the strategic importance of direct connectivity between Brazil and Ireland for trade, investment, tourism, education and mobility.

While no route or launch date has yet been announced, the momentum behind direct Brazil–Ireland flights is stronger than it has been in many years.

BICC will continue working alongside government stakeholders, industry leaders and strategic partners to support initiatives that strengthen connectivity and deepen the relationship between our two countries.

An evening that beautifully showcased the strength of the Brazil-Ireland connection.

Yesterday, BICC had the pleasure of attending the inaugural Beef & Wine Masterclass hosted by , one of our founding members, in Dublin.

Bringing together distinguished guests from the business, diplomatic and political communities, the event celebrated premium Irish dry-aged beef, authentic Gaucho BBQ traditions and carefully curated wine pairings, creating a unique experience that reflected the best of both Ireland and Brazil.

Guests enjoyed an authentic Gaucho BBQ experience led by and the BAH33° BBQ Team, alongside a master butchery demonstration by and Tom Stone of , complemented by wine expertise from Bren Smith of .

What made the evening particularly meaningful was the collaboration behind it. A Brazilian business working hand in hand with renowned Irish suppliers demonstrated how strong relationships, built on trust, shared values and mutual respect, can create something truly special.

The partnership between BAH33°, John Stone Fine Foods and Mackenway Wines is a wonderful example of the type of connection the Brazil-Ireland Chamber of Commerce seeks to foster: bringing Brazilian and Irish businesses together, encouraging collaboration and creating opportunities that celebrate the strengths of both countries.

We were also delighted to see representatives from the Embassy of Brazil in Ireland and members of the Ireland–Brazil Parliamentary Friendship Group among those in attendance, further reflecting the growing ties between our two nations.

More than a masterclass, the evening was a celebration of partnership, excellence and the enduring relationship between Brazil and Ireland.
