This month, we're shining the spotlight on Bushmills Ireland — one of the world's best-known Irish whiskey names, with a distilling history stretching back more than 400 years.
Based in Bushmills, County Antrim, the distillery traces its licensed distilling history back to 1608, when a licence was granted to Sir Thomas Phillipps.
One of the things that makes Bushmills particularly interesting is its long-standing focus on single malt whiskey. Its single malts are triple distilled and made from 100% malted barley, while the wider range also includes its famous blended whiskeys such as Original and Black Bush.
THE RANGE
🥃 Bushmills Original – A classic blended Irish whiskey combining single malt and lighter grain whiskey. Smooth, approachable and versatile.
🥃 Black Bush 80/20 PX – A travel-exclusive evolution of the iconic Black Bush, combining 80% single malt finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels with 20% small-batch grain whiskey. Rich, fruity and full of PX sherry character.
🥃 10 Year Old – A triple-distilled single malt made from 100% malted barley, matured in bourbon and sherry casks, with honey, vanilla and dried fruit notes.
🥃 12 Year Old – Matured in Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks before a six-month finish in Marsala barriques, bringing dried fruit and nutty characteristics.
🥃 15 Year Old – A more mature single malt showcasing extended maturation and cask character.
🥃 21 Year Old – Matured for at least 19 years in Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks before a two-year Madeira finish, bringing layers of dried fruit, fig, toffee, toasted oak and vanilla.
