Evolve Nutrition Ireland

Evolve Nutrition Ireland Evolve Nutrition wants to help you understand the power of eating REAL nutrient dense foods to help you live the best life you deserve. But I wasn't happy.

There's so much conflicting information out there and if you look hard enough you can find a reason not to eat everything! My mission is to filter through all this information, to learn, educate and pass on what I can to anyone willing to listen! My own journey started when I left college and joined Weight Watchers! This was the first time I learned how to read ingredients - probably the only good

thing that did come out of it! Sure, I lost weight, avoided fat, turned vegetarian and remained that way for 8 years. Within that time, I moved to New Zealand to pursue a career in the film industry and was confronted with new foods, fruits, veg and even turned vegan for some time while I was there. I achieved my aim and my film career took off. 3 years later, returning home and continuing in this career that I had always dreamed of being in, began to take its toll. The long hours, intense and busy working days and unreliability of this type of work were hard to deal with sometimes. A cycle of working hard, gaining weight, then being out of work and joining weight watchers again, began and it was a case of rinse and repeat. Long story short, the world of weight training, high intensity interval training and clean eating became my "way of eating" - no dieting! And there's no going back. Some call it paleo, others call it caveman eating or primal eating or whatever but - I call it "eating REAL food"

But its a journey, not a destination, and it evolves from one year to the next until you finally know your body well enough to give it what it needs. I don't believe in "diets", I believe in adopting a way of eating, and a type of lifestyle to help YOUR body to be in the best condition possible!

There’s Me (in multiple exposures), there’s an amazing sunset (also in multiple exposures), there’s Warsaw (40 mins outside it, in a forest hotel where I’m LITERALLY the only guest), there’s a kinda meditation retreat this weekend, ( ), there’s wine and cheese (because when there’s only 1 guest, facilities are minimal), there’s nervousness, there’s excitement, there’s anticipation (booked this even 2 months ago while in the depths or rethinking EVERYTHING)….and finally there’s hopefully more guests arriving soon.

I think I'm at my happiest when I'm immersed in a weekly food prep and listening to podcasts ☺️ I'm so incredibly lucky to have the money (at least right now!) to buy so many organic foods, and to have an interest and knowledge of nutrition, to know what I personally need to eat. And though I now work in an incredible industry, I do feel guilty at times that I stopped practicing nutrition for the time being.

There's so many people I could help.

But with so much rediculous "Health" information being churned out my government bodies/main stream media/influencers etc and so much dumbing down of independent, educated, scientific based, researched facts on natural alternatives. We're fighting a loosing battle.

I hope everyone finds there happy place:)

What's in the picture? Soup made with the bones of whatever animal the butcher supplied me with...and lots of bone marrow, and a chicken carcass. Extra stock. Coconut flour bread (for the soup:), Eggs to go in the Tupperware, and chicken lunches all with veges, purslane, roast sprouts, peppers. ☺️🙏🌞...and yet to come, almond butter protein balls to prevent me digging into the biscuit tin on set!

Looks like our Berlin hotel is living in the 80's with their nutrition.
Fat is flavour. "Fat free/Low Fat" usually means there's added sugar or added flavorings. Fat feeds your brain, your cells are formed with a phospholipid bylayer...in otherwords...fat. Living a fat free lifestyle affects your cells so choose the right fats. Omega 3 high quality fish oils, the yolk of the egg, butter (never margarine!) Avocado. Don't assume because something is labelled "Fitness" or "healthy" that it actually is.
Eat the fat!

"Because that's what I had" Protein Bites! A little habit of buying crap, expensive, protein bars developed before Xmas so I've been making my own versions since January. I do gym stuff in the mornings, then 3-4 days a week I'll hit the pool after so this is a little protein snack post weights, pre swim usually with an Americano.
Yes, they're green
No, yours don't have to be
What's in them? Honestly, I used what I had, eyeballed it, and hoped for the best, and they're grand. I dont need something to taste amazing for me to eat it. If it's decent, if it contains what I need, perfect!

At a guess:
1/2 small jar of almond butter and
1/4 cup coconut oil melted together
A load of cinnamon
A pile of cacao nibs
A sprinkling of mixed seeds
A couple scoops of green powder
Pinch of salt
Whey Protein Powder - about 3 scoops
1 tsp honey

Mix it all up. Freeze, then chop into chunks.

Basically...I used what I had in my press. Keep in the freezer till you want them.

There's something about landing back in your in space after a frantic family filled Christmas. I feel "back in control" of my food decisions, yet don't I always have control? I brought home my preferred treats and foods with me but still indulged happily with the best of them:) So I guess for me, it's the environment that has the most impact on my choices, and good old stress. My blotchy skin is reminding me of yesterday's environment; meringues and cream, but today's environment has gloriously green cauliflower and broccoli bone broth soup with tonnes of turmeric. And, a fresh loaf of paleo bread. Check out www.evolvenutrition.ie for broth (or my lazy ass used .ie broth) and bread recipes if you fancy them. Grainne x
