We're excited to share our second Global BDO Sustainability survey.

The results of our global survey of sustainability professionals show that organisations are making steady progress in embedding sustainability, with governance, stakeholder management and organisational structures becoming increasingly mature.

Significant gaps remain in integration, implementation capacity and data-driven sustainability programme management. Closing these gaps will require organisations to align sustainability with resilience, supply chain and energy security, and adaptation to growing global volatility.

Our Sustainability team at BDO Ireland will be sharing more on the findings from an Irish perspective. In the meantime, download the global report to explore the key sustainability trends and challenges worldwide: https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0y24yd0

Global mobility and workforce compliance continue to evolve across Europe. The August BDO Global Employer Services News highlights important developments for employers in Belgium and the UK:

β€’ In Belgium, recently enacted tax reform is expected to reduce employment tax burdens, increase tax-free thresholds and adjust incentives for individuals, while proposed corrective measures would address municipal surcharge issues affecting non-residents.

β€’ In the UK, payroll cost pressures and HMRC process risk are moving higher up the employer agenda for 2026/27, making it important for finance and tax teams to revisit cost models, payroll controls and PAYE reconciliations. Separately, right to work changes taking effect on 1 October will extend compliance expectations beyond traditional employment relationships.

Together, these updates underscore the need for organizations to stay ahead of changing tax, payroll, immigration and employment compliance obligations, particularly where cross-border employees, non-resident workers, contractors or contingent labour arrangements are involved.
