I am so happy to see pictured in today's Irish Times the incredible Tracy Carroll, from Co. Meath, and her beautiful 9-year-old daughter Willow who has a severe life-limiting condition, at the launch of the Family Carer 2025 Scorecard which calls for urgent action to address persistent gaps in income, respite and practical supports for family carers across Ireland. The Family Carers Ireland's Scorecard urges Government to act now to deliver measurable change for carers. COPYRIGHT: Mark Stedman

What a great way to start a weekend! I was delighted to see Ballet Ireland dancers Ramon Valls and Nicola Kilmurray on the front page of today's The Irish Times, who joined guest speaker Dame Darcey Bussell, former Principal dancer with The Royal Ballet and the most famous British ballerina of her generation, at the seventh Ballet Ireland Annual Fundraising Luncheon in the Merrion Hotel. The Annual Fundraising Luncheon brought together supporters, patrons, and advocates of the arts to celebrate Ballet Ireland’s ongoing mission and to support its future endeavours. It was great seeing Ireland Reads Day in today's Irish Independent and Irish Examiner, where no less than eight of Ireland's top children's authors and illustrators took over the children's department at the dlr LexIcon Library in Dún Laoghaire to throw a magnificent tea party celebrating Irish children's books, curiosity and creativity. Pictured is six-year-old Deniz Colak with tea party characters. The Great Tea Party was an unforgettable day of tales and teapots (of cordial!) organised by dlr Arts Office Writer-in-Residence Eve McDonnell and dlr Libraries, in collaboration with the campaign. Pictured in the The Irish Times and the Irish Examiner are talented students at this year’s Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology FÍS film Awards, winners of the Met Éireann Award, Scoil Naomh Iosef, Co. Kerry for their film 'Three Little Pigs', and St. Ciarán's N.S., Baylin, Westmeath for their film 'Reports From the Courts'. Taking place at The Helix, DCU, Dublin, this year’s event was hosted by RTE’s Sinead Kennedy, and attended by Minister for Education and Youth, Hildegarde Naughton T.D. This year’s ceremony showcased films across a wide variety of themes including history, fairytales and nature. Over 1,500 pupils from schools across Ireland submitted films for the competition, bringing their creativity and storytelling skills to life on a national stage.

I was absolutely thrilled to win 2nd place in the Arts and Entertainment category at this year's AIB Press Photographers Ireland Awards for my images of Riccardo Saggese and Beanie Sula from the circus spectacular, 'Sabotage' which captivated audiences during the amazing Galway International Arts Festival. Also in this year's traveling exhibition is my image (held by my brilliant dear friend Justine Emoe) from the Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) annual graduate showcase 'On Show 2025' of Bronagh Lennon BA (Hons) Art with 'Presence in the Absence', an installation of 3 sculptures. Sinead O'Doherty (Macdonald), a truly super person, of O’Doherty Communication who has over 20 years experience working with some of the biggest names and most prestigious events in the arts and entertainment sector made the Galway International Arts Festival image happen by kindly inviting me West. Ruth Barry is another great one for sure in IADT who pointed out Bronagh's work to me at the showcase. A pr photographer is only as good as the great people they work with and the wonderful events they are so lucky to cover. THANK YOU to all of my wonderful clients, many of whom I consider real friends. And a massive thank you to all at the Press Photographers Ireland CLG for another wonderful event. David Branigan and all the committee put in hours and hours of work only for the love of the profession.
