Minister for Department of Children, Disability and Equality, Norma Foley TD, listening to the sea in a shell with Tiernan and Lyla from Bridget’s Montessori in Duleek, Co. Meath, at the Shaping the Future National Forum on Early Learning and Care and School-Age Childcare, which welcomed stakeholders from across Ireland today. The Forum is the final stage of a nationwide consultation process under the National Conversation on Education and will inform Phase 2 of Shaping the Future: The Early Years Action Plan and the successor strategy to First 5. The children from Bridget’s Montessori were invited into the Department today in recognition of their contribution to Children's Creative Spaces. Pictured in today's Irish Independent, a visitor stops at Karol Radziszewski's series of portraits, 'Poczet' (2017) which reference historic drawings frequently installed in Polish schools as teaching aids, today in the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) at the launch of 'Technologies of Peace: Art and Transition in Contemporary Europe (1989–2026)', a landmark exhibition on peacebuilding through art in post-conflict Europe. I am delighted for my hard working client Alice Public Relations to land their image on the front page of the Irish Examiner business section of Forest Industries Ireland member CJ Sheeran Group officially opening a new €6 million logistics and storage facility at its headquarters in Mountrath, Co Laois, expanding its business capacity significantly, signalling a strong domestic timber market and boosting employment opportunities. Pictured after cutting the ribbon of the 50,000 square foot facility ─ which is capable of storing 150,000 pallets, will provide dedicated storage for customer products, while also expanding the Group’s third-party logistics services ─ are Mark Sheeran, managing director at CJ Sheeran Group and chairperson of Forest Industries Ireland, Ashleigh Doyle, director at CJ Sheeran Group, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine with special responsibility for Forestry, Farm Safety and Horticulture Niall Collins T.D., and Fergal Moran, business development director at CJ Sheeran Group. The development will create 15 additional jobs, growing the Group’s total direct workforce to 465, and is part of a wider programme of strategic investment across the CJ Sheeran Group delivering capacity for further job creation. Pictured today in the The Irish Times is the National Print Museum, Dublin, announcing the programme for The BIG Type Festival, a three-day celebration of print, typography, design and creativity taking place from 4th – 6th September 2026 to mark the Museum’s 30th anniversary, are author and designer Annie Atkins and 11-year-old Darrach Wrenn. Bringing together artists, designers, writers and printmakers from Ireland and abroad, the festival will feature talks, workshops, demonstrations, music and family-friendly events, with participants including Djamel White, Anthony Burrill, Maser, Annie Atkins and Chris Haughton. During the programme announcement, Djamel White, Annie Atkins and the children joined letterpress printer Mary Plunkett for a demonstration of the Museum’s historic Vandercook No. 4 printing press.
