CJK x Barnardos | Finglas Family Fun Days 💚

Our CJK volunteers recently joined Barnardos Ireland for two Family Fun Days in Finglas, helping out at Meakstown Community Centre and St Helena’s Resource Centre.

The events brought local children and families together for games, arts and crafts, entertainment and lots of fun, with our volunteers lending a hand throughout.

CJK’s Volunteer Day gives our people the opportunity to take paid time to support a charity or community initiative. It was great to see some of our team using theirs to support our partnership with Barnardos and get involved in the local community.

A big thank you to everyone who volunteered and to the Barnardos teams for having us.

The Paul Hatton Hike in Support of Coolmine TC 🙌

On Friday, 31 hikers from CJK, Coolmine and our clients took on a 30km trek through the Wicklow Mountains, raising over €20,000 for Coolmine Therapeutic Community and its vital treatment and rehabilitation services for people in recovery from addiction.

This year’s hike had special significance as, in memory of our great friend and colleague Paul Hatton, our annual Coolmine hike became The Paul Hatton Hike.

Paul was at the heart of CJK’s relationship with Coolmine for many years. He believed in people, recognised their potential and worked tirelessly to create opportunities for people in recovery. He was also part of this hike from the very beginning and never missed one, so it feels fitting that it will carry his name from now on.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, generously donated and helped make the day possible.

Recent Project Completion | EV Bus Charging Infrastructure ⚡️🚌

CJK recently completed the electrical works for a major EV bus charging infrastructure project, supporting the transition to a fully electric bus fleet.

The project included the installation and connection of four 200kW pantograph bus chargers, the first of their kind to be installed in Ireland, along with seven 150kW EV chargers across two locations.

Our scope also included two new purpose built substations, MV infrastructure and a new load management system to remotely monitor the charging infrastructure and manage electrical demand.

The completed infrastructure provides a reliable and efficient charging solution, supporting the client’s move towards lower emission transport.

CJK Golf Scramble 2026 ⛳️

Last week, we held our annual CJK Golf Scramble at Wicklow Golf Club, with teams enjoying a great day of golf, good weather and a bit of healthy competition. ☀️

A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a success.

We're proud to announce a new three-year partnership with Barnardos Ireland in support of the Wizards of Words literacy programme in Finglas.

Wizards of Words provides one-to-one reading support for children in local primary schools who would benefit from extra support in literacy at an early stage in their education.

Early intervention can make a lasting difference. When children fall behind in reading at a young age, the gap can become harder to close over time. By providing support when it can have the greatest impact, Wizards of Words helps children develop skills that will benefit them throughout their education and later in life.

As a company headquartered in Finglas, we're proud to support a programme that is making a tangible difference for children and families in our local community.

We look forward to working alongside Barnardos and supporting the important work they do.

Inside CJK Academy 🤩

A look inside our upgraded training space, where our apprentice electricians and plumbers develop the practical skills they will bring to site every day.

The facilities are designed to support hands on learning and help apprentices build confidence both on site and throughout their SOLAS training.

With the Leaving Cert now complete, apprenticeships are well worth considering as a career pathway, offering the opportunity to learn, earn and develop valuable skills. 🎓

Apprentice Graduation 2026 🎓

Recently, a group of CJK apprentices attended the National Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony, officially marking the completion of their apprenticeships and their qualification as electricians, plumbers and pipefitters. 👏

This is a significant milestone and recognition of the hard work, commitment and determination they have shown throughout their apprenticeship journeys.

Through the CJK Academy, we provide hands on experience, expert mentorship and the opportunity to build a rewarding career.

Congratulations to all of the graduates! We are excited to see how they will continue to grow and contribute to our team. 🙌

Supporting the People Behind the Industry 👷

On Friday, members of the CJK team, including two of our apprentices, attended the Lighthouse Charity Ireland Summer Lunch 2026.

The event brings together people from across the construction industry to raise funds for the vital mental health and wellbeing services the Lighthouse Charity provides to construction workers and their families.

At CJK, People at the Heart is one of our core values, so it was great to support an organisation whose work makes a real difference to individuals and families across our industry. 🤝

A few colourful additions around CJK this month 🌈🍩

To mark Pride Month, we shared Pride themed doughnuts, posters and Pride lanyards as a simple way to recognise and celebrate the month.

Creating a workplace where people feel welcome, valued and respected is something that matters every day. Pride Month gives us another opportunity to show that support and celebrate the diversity of the people who make up our teams.

While this month shines a spotlight on these conversations, the values behind it are important all year round.

One Step at a Time 🚴‍♂️

On Sunday, 14 of the CJK team recently took on the Wicklow 100, covering 100km through some of Wicklow’s toughest climbs and most scenic routes. A great achievement and no small challenge 👏

The theme of this year’s Men’s Health Week is ‘One Step at a Time: Progress, Not Perfection’, a reminder that looking after our health does not have to mean making huge changes overnight.

Whether it is getting out for a cycle, taking a walk, having a conversation, or making time for a check up, small steps can have a big impact over time.

Well done to everyone who took part in this year’s Wicklow 100 🚴
