You can’t transfer business value if you can’t transfer trust. And trust doesn't live in a spreadsheet.

We asked Olga Blasco, How do you ensure you maximise Value transfer when you acquire or merge organizations?"

The most successful organizations aren't necessarily those doing the most deals. In M&A, the real "assets" are the people your clients actually rely on - the ones who made the business a success in the first place. If these teams don't believe in the future direction of the organization, your integration is already at risk.

These acquisitions and integrations succeed because leadership has "fast-forwarded the movie" to the end, building the joint entity with a clear, shared vision that teams can actually get behind.

When merging two cultures, how do you provide clarity when the "ending" still feels unwritten?

The best people in the industry aren’t reading your job ads. They’re busy watching how you lead your current team through the AI shift.

The reality is that the strongest talent in the market isn't actively searching. They are quietly assessing your leadership quality, your clarity of direction, and whether your organization has a purpose that goes beyond surviving the next quarter.

We are seeing a major shift in how winning organizations operate. They are moving away from "role churn" and toward building long-term capability.

This means three specific things:

1. Communicating your strategy with absolute consistency.
2. Giving your team exposure to meaningful, AI-led initiatives.
3. Investing in the people you have, rather than constantly looking for the "perfect" external hire.

In summary, ensure you don’t have a leaky bucket, when it comes to talent retention.

Hiring will always stay competitive, but in the coming year, retention will be the factor that actually decides who wins.

How much of your "growth strategy" is actually just a plan to keep the talent you already have?

Many leaders wait until they are in a crisis to seek help. But as Olga Blasco, C-suite Fractional Executive, explains, the right time to bring in a fractional leader is simply when the cost of waiting exceeds the cost of intervention.

So, how do you know if you’ve hit that threshold?

Olga identifies several warning signs, but one of the most critical is the Founder/CEO Bottleneck.

If nothing in your organization moves without your direct input, you aren’t just "busy" - you are a scale risk. When a leader is no longer scalable, strategic initiatives are discussed repeatedly but kept being postponed, and critical opportunities are missed.

Watch the recording to see Olga’s breakdown of the warning signs that mean you need a fractional leader now, not six months from now.

One of the things that stood out at was how innovation showed up at every level.

From established global brands discussing the future of AI-powered personalization, to students and emerging talent sharing early-stage ideas through PIC Sneaks.

On Day 2, Olga Blasco hosted a session with Andrea Guisado Muñoz and Manuel Kohl from KAYAK, exploring an increasingly important challenge: As AI enables more personalized experiences, how do organizations maintain trust?

The discussion highlighted the role of human judgment, cultural intelligence, and responsible oversight in ensuring that personalization feels relevant, accurate, and authentic.

Later in the day, PIC Sneaks gave new voices the opportunity to test ideas, gather feedback, and take their first steps onto the industry stage.

Different topics and perspectives, but the same message:

Technology creates new possibilities, yet progress still depends on people willing to question, test, and improve what comes next.

After last week, full of conversations, new ideas, and familiar faces at LocWorld55, it's back to the day-to-day.

And one session that stayed with us was CLIP, hosted by Dave Ruane and Alessandra Binazzi.

Participants had just 4 minutes to pitch an idea to the audience. The audience then helped shape those ideas through questions, feedback, and discussion.

A huge shout-out to the presenters who were willing to put early-stage concepts in front of their peers and invite challenge, feedback, and fresh perspectives.

Innovation rarely happens in isolation, and the best ideas often get better when they're shared.

Olga Blasco, as a member of the Program Committee of LocWorld55, hosted a case study session, “Rhythm of Global AI: How Spotify Brings Structure, Scale, and Quality to Multilingual Experiences”, presented by two people who are helping shape that journey: Anne-Sophie Delafosse and Jennifer Vela-Valido.

When Olga kicked off the session, asking the audience to raise their hands if they used Spotify daily, almost everyone did. Spotify is more than a music streaming company since it revolutionised the space 20 years ago. It is a technology powerhouse that combines AI, data, personalization, and content to create one of the most engaging consumer experiences in the world. Its impact extends far beyond music into podcasts, audiobooks, creator ecosystems, and the future of digital media.

AI is remixing the way global experiences are built, but scaling it beyond experiments requires more than great models. In this session, Anne-Sophie and Jennifer revealed how Spotify has managed to build a program-level model that unites business and operational strategies with multilingual AI quality frameworks, enabling teams across Product, Engineering, Data Curation, and Language Quality to ship world-ready AI features at speed.

The PIC #20 Final is now underway, bringing together six finalists with bold ideas that are pushing the localization industry forward.

From AI-driven solutions and intelligent automation to new ways of connecting people, content, and languages, the breadth of innovation on display today is remarkable.

A huge congratulations to all finalists for making it to the final stage.

Hosted by Dave Ruane and Marina Pantcheva, the challenge is now in the hands of the audience.

Many organizations we observe are treating AI as a tool for efficiency. But as our conversation with Lauren Cullen, Lorcan Malone, and Mark Flanagan revealed, AI is actually an amplifier.

If your leadership is strong, AI scales your success. If your leadership is weak, AI scales your mistakes - faster and more expensively than ever before.

We are moving away from skills-based hiring toward mindset-based leadership. In this new language economy, the defining traits aren't technical. They are:

Grit: The ability to navigate transformation that feels painful.

Intellectual curiosity: Solving problems that didn't exist six months ago.

Authenticity: The human connection that AI cannot replicate and customers now crave as a differentiator.

AI may be the engine, but leadership is the steering wheel. If you don't have the right person in the seat, you're just accelerating toward the wrong destination.

The best conference conversations often happen before the conference begins.

Yesterday, before officially got underway, Annette Lawlor led the traditional LocWalk around Dublin.

The route followed the canal to Portobello, through the streets of one of Dublin's most characterful neighbourhoods, with a stop at The Barge before returning through Ranelagh.

What made the walk memorable wasn't just the scenery.

Olga Blasco shared local knowledge and stories from the neighbourhoods where she used to live, pointing out favourite spots for bread and bagels, places to get shoes repaired, and challenging the group to count all the pubs along the route.

As it turns out, nobody got the number right. Everyone missed at least one or two. You have to pay closer attention 😊

And that wasn't all.

At one point, Dave Ruane treated the group to a recitation of Patrick Kavanagh's "Canal Bank Walk" as they explored Dublin's neighbourhoods.

A little drizzle, plenty of sunshine, great conversations, and a reminder that some of the most valuable connections at industry events happen away from the conference hall.
