So while we were Roadshowing in Navan , and accepting awards in Dundalk over the weekend....Baileys made a wh***ey. And someone has just paid €1,300 for it.

That was one of the talking points from our October Auction, alongside a Midleton Very Rare 1986 at €5,200 and Writers’ Tears 2011 at €2,200. A 1960s Talisker bottling from Gordon & MacPhail brought €1,750, too. Plenty to keep the wh***ey chat going this week.

Our October Auction begins closing from 7 PM tonight, Sunday 18 October — so if you’ve been watching a bottle, thinking about a bid or waiting until the last day, this is your reminder.

There are 1,300+ lots to explore, from rare and historic Irish wh***ey to sought-after Scotch, Bourbon and world spirits.

This has been a wide ranging auction for us, with remarkable bottles including the historic older Irish Wh***ey bottles, alongside collectible Jameson, Midleton, Redbreast, Japanese wh**ky and plenty of bottles you simply don’t see every day.

Three hours to go until the closing stages begin.

Have another look at your watchlist. Have another browse. And if there’s one you’d regret letting go, now might be the time.

Our October Wh***ey & Spirits Auction begins to close TODAY, Sunday 18 October, from 7pm. Have a browse, check the lot photographs and descriptions, and get your bids in.

We’re a bit early for St. Nick, but we weren’t going to leave this one until Christmas.

This Very Olde St. Nick 12 Year Old is a Japanese export bourbon, bottled at 45.1%, and it’s well worth a look in our October auction.

There’s an interesting story behind the name. Back in the 1980s, Japanese buyers had a growing appetite for aged American bourbon. Very Olde St. Nick found its audience there, building a following through small releases that still keep bourbon collectors interested today.

Our bottle is Single Batch Lot #03, in 75cl. If you collect American wh***ey, have a look at the listing and photographs — you may want to make room on the watchlist.

The auction begins to close this Sunday, 18 October, from 7pm. Get your bid in and keep an eye on your lot as closing gets underway.
