GreenTechHQ aims to make developing sustainable solutions mainstream by supporting the development of technology, brands and services through a centralised innovation hub in the South East of Ireland. It is an innovation hub which invites start-ups, scale-ups and companies whose focus is in developing an environmentally positive technology, product or service that will conserve the earth’s natural resources and provide a sustainable future for generations ahead.

Today marks Kayla McGannon’s last day with us at GreenTechHQ as she finishes her work placement supporting Mór Taste with their social media and digital marketing activities.
Over the past number of months, Kayla has been a familiar face in our co-working space, working from one of our dedicated desks while helping to showcase the fantastic work of the Mór Taste team. Her professionalism, creativity and positive attitude have been a great addition to the GreenTechHQ community.
As Kayla prepares to begin the next stage of her academic journey, we would like to thank her for being part of our community and wish her every success in her future studies and career.
Best of luck, Kayla. We have no doubt that great opportunities lie ahead! 👏

David McNamara is Group Chief Economist at AIB, where he leads the bank's economic analysis and provides insights for national and international stakeholders and customers.

Before joining AIB, David spent five years at EY, where he was Director of Economic Advisory. His work covered macroeconomic research and insights for both the private and public sectors, including economic research around major investment projects. He was also seconded to the Irish Government to support preparations for Brexit.

Before EY, David worked as a Senior Economist at Davy, producing macroeconomic research and insights for global institutional investors.

David holds a PhD from Trinity College Dublin, where his research focused on the economic impact of carbon-reduction policies on Irish households.

Today, David's work involves keeping a close eye on the forces shaping Ireland's economy — from growth and employment to inflation, international trade and the wider global economic environment. His recent analysis has included the implications of global uncertainty and changing trade conditions for Irish businesses.

We're delighted to have David joining us at Ambition '26 – The Entrepreneurial Experience.

For founders and business owners, understanding the wider economic environment can be just as important as understanding what's happening inside your own business.

🌱 Meet Norman Crowley

You've seen the name. Now get to know the entrepreneur behind it. 👇

Norman Crowley is a serial entrepreneur and the founder of CoolPlanet, a company focused on helping businesses reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions through technology and engineering.

But his entrepreneurial journey started long before climate technology.

Norman started his first business at just 16, a welding company in Cork that grew to employ several people. He went on to build Trinity Commerce, a technology business that grew significantly before being sold to Eircom in 1999.

He later went on to build and sell further technology businesses, including Inspired Gaming, with his businesses reportedly generating more than $750 million in total value before he turned 40.

Rather than stopping there, Norman turned his attention towards a challenge he felt was much bigger than business alone: climate change.

He founded what became CoolPlanet in 2009, developing a group of businesses focused on energy efficiency, decarbonisation and helping organisations make better use of technology and data. Today, CoolPlanet works with major organisations internationally on reducing energy use and emissions.

It's a journey that spans welding, technology, scaling businesses, exits and, ultimately, using entrepreneurship to tackle one of the biggest challenges facing the world.
