We are hiring a Factory Automation Technician.

Shift: B shift (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday night and every second Saturday night, 8pm-8am)

Position Summary:
Provide factory systems support in a highly automated production environment. Implement continuous improvement solutions to maximize equipment efficiency and robustness.

Key Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot high speed automated assembly machines
• Sustain PLC programs and associated equipment
• Troubleshoot and replace faulty electrical components
• Configuration of bar code scanning equipment
• PLC code upgrades
• Contribute to efficiency improvement projects through code upgrades
• Provide line technical support
• Meet performance targets and production deadlines
• Work proactively on own initiative with minimal supervision
• Work as a cross functional team member

Core Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
• Knowledge of PLC programming
• Knowledge of communication protocols including Ethernet and bus technologies
• Experience with HMI’s, Remote I/O Networks, vision systems and robotics is an advantage
• Knowledge of electrical systems including AC/DC circuits, Electrical Diagrams
• Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC devices is an advantage
• Demonstrate advanced thinking and logical approach to problem solving
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• IT knowledge including PC, LAN topology, DHCP is an advantage


Typical Experience/Education
• Minimum Level 6 Qualification within an engineering discipline or trade equivalent in electronics/mechanics
• Experience is essential
