One week on from Dublin Tech Summit 2026, and we're still energised by the conversations, connections, and ideas that filled the Accelerate Stage.

From John Brennan's "Deal Killers" session, unpacking the real reasons investor deals fall apart, to Mary Ryan's "Pitch-Ready" workshop helping founders sharpen their story, it was two days of honest, practical insight for the entrepreneurs and innovators in the room.

As headline sponsors of the Accelerate Stage, WestBIC as part of the Irish BICs was proud to bring the region's entrepreneurial spirit to one of Europe's most exciting tech events.

Thank you to every speaker, panelist, and attendee who made it memorable.

A milestone moment for Donegal's food community.

Our colleague Eunan Cunningham joined the Food Coast Donegal launch of their new Digital Food Map at Castlegrove House, Letterkenny last week, and it was a great evening to be part of.

Producers, chefs, restaurateurs and food business owners from across Co. Donegal gathered for an honest conversation about what it takes to build a food destination people return to, with collaboration, not competition, at the centre of it.

The centrepiece of the evening was the Digital Food Map itself, an interactive platform linking local producers directly to the restaurants and hotels using their produce. For visitors, it makes Donegal's culinary landscape genuinely easy to discover and explore.

The project has been supported through European Union funding via the ST3ER project, a programme WestBIC is proud to be a partner on, investing in digital and sustainable innovation for regional food communities.

Another great day at Dublin Tech Summit connecting with founders, investors, and people with innovative ideas.

Our highlight was the session we hosted, an honest, no-fluff conversation about what investors actually want to see from founders, and what makes them switch off.

A few things that came through from the panel:

🔹 Investors care less about the numbers themselves and more about what's behind them. What's actually driving the growth?

🔹Clarity matters. Know who genuinely needs your product, not just who might like it.

🔹Use your network. Show up to events. Relationships open doors that cold outreach won't.

Thanks to everyone who came along and to our brilliant panel for sharing their insights.

The sun is shining at Dublin Tech Summit and Day 1 is in full swing.

Great conversations on the floor so far with founders, ecosystem partners and client companies.

Our session 'Deal Killers: Why Investors Say No', moderated by John Brennan, delivered exactly what it promised.

Panellists Patrick Ryan, Faye Walsh Drouillard and Conor O'Sullivan covered what investors actually look for: the right team, genuine founder obsession with the problem, speed to market and matching funding with milestones.

If you're at DTS, find the Irish BICs at Stand G11 and catch the Accelerate Stage for more sessions today and tomorrow.
