So many children are experiencing increased anxiety at present. So great to see this Irish publication. Looking forward to reading this
Just a message to say thank you to everyone who has bought a copy of Anxious Children in an Anxious World: Facing Fears and Finding Brave.
I am so thankful to every one of you, to all of those who are sending lovely messages and lovely reviews of the book. I am trying to keep up with messages and share reviews as best I can.
I can't believe I am actually saying this, but I have been told that there is a very real possibility that the book will get onto the Irish Bestsellers list this week. Eeek! The deadline for sales to be included is midnight tonight. So, if any of you based in Ireland were planning to buy a copy this week, I would appreciate if you would consider making the purchase today. You can order a copy at:

Having said that, getting on the Bestsellers List was not even a consideration in my mind when I wrote this book. Many of you will know that I have very personal reasons for writing the book, one of my own children has struggled with anxiety, and I know just how disempowering it can be. It takes power away from the child and it takes power away from the parent. I wanted to write something that would help parents to take some of that power back. We sometimes feel when our child is struggling that there is nothing we can do to help, but once we understand what is happening in their brains and their bodies, there is so much we can do.
It might sound counterintuitive if I tell you that I wanted to write a positive book about child anxiety, but this is a positive book! I hope it will make parents realise there is so much they can do to help. So, no matter what happens with the Bestsellers List, I really hope that this book will make a difference in the lives of the parents, grandparents, carers and educators who read it, and to the children in their lives.
