A great article in The Kerryman today on the launch of the forthcoming 2026 Listowel Food Fair which takes place from the 5th - 9th November in Listowel.

Stacey Williams,MPRII Public Relations has a long standing relationship with the Listowel Food Fair, having worked on our first festival in 2008 with one of Ireland’s favourite Celebrity Chef’s Kevin Dundon.

I am delighted to be appointed to manage the Public Relations once again for the forthcoming 2026 Listowel Food Fair and we look forward to welcoming Celebrity Chef, Food Author and International Irish Ambassador Rory O’Connell of Ballymaloe Cookery School to Listowel.

One of Ireland’s longest running food festivals, the Listowel Food Fair celebrates its 31st fair this year from Thursday 5th – Monday 9th November 2026.The historic North Kerry town of Listowel long famed for its literary geniuses and culinary delights will once again come alive for a host of exciting gourmet events for all ages and appetites.

Celebrity Chef, Food Writer and International Irish Food Ambassador Rory O’Connell of Ballymaloe Cookery School will visit the 2026 Listowel Food Fair on Saturday 7th November 2026. A twice recipient of ‘Ireland’s Chef of the Year’, Rory O’Connell will visit Garvey's SuperValu Listowel at 11am on Saturday 7th November 2026 to meet local Kerry Artisan food producers and customers.

Rory O’Connell will then host a live cooking demonstration at 2pm at the The Listowel Arms Hotel. After the cooking demonstration, food lovers can meet Rory O’Connell at a Book Signing at the Listowel Arms Hotel and get a signed copy of his book ‘The Joy of Food’, which was short-listed for an An Post Irish Book Award.

Festival highlights this year include a glamorous evening of ‘Gourmet Food & Fashion’ - Celebrating 150 Years of John J. Galvin & Son 1876 -2026 at the Listowel Arms Hotel on Saturday 7th November 2026. A very special occasion showcasing five Listowel Fashion Boutiques will be hosted by national and international Fashionista Marietta Doran. Professional models are being provided by Irish fashion legend Celia
Holman Lee Agency. Kerry GAA Star and Fashion Designer Paul Galvin will be showcasing his range of menswear for Dunnes Stores on the night. A ‘Welcome Drinks Reception’ followed by a delicious gourmet menu is included with the tickets.

The much anticipated 2026 Listowel Food Fair Awards will be presented at this special occasion to include the following categories:

‘KILKENNY ARTIST CAPTURES MOUNT GARRETT FERRY BRIDGE AS LOCAL COMMUTERS WELCOME RE-OPENING’

Thomastown landscape artist William Watson has released his painting of the ‘Mount Garrett Ferry Bridge’ which re-opened last Thursday 27th August at 6pm, which has been welcomed by local commuters travelling between Wexford and Kilkenny.

The Ferrymountgarrett Bridge (locally known as the Ferry Bridge or Mount Garrett Bridge) is a historic six-span road bridge carrying the R700 across the River Barrow, directly connecting counties Kilkenny and Wexford just north of New Ross.

The original "Mount Garrett Wooden Bridge," was designed by famous American bridge builder Lemuel Cox in 1794, replacing the ferry.In 1921 this wooden structure was destroyed during the Irish War of Independence.

Between 1925 and 1930 the new Mount Garrett Ferry Bridge was designed by Dublin-based architect Alfred Dover Delap, the current concrete-and-steel structure was built and officially opened in 1930.

William Watson is an Irish landscape painter and art teacher based in Thomastown, Co.Kilkenny. He is best known for his large-scale topographical studies and vibrant architectural paintings of Kilkenny and its surrounding villages.

His landscape work achieved national recognition when it was selected for the prestigious 192nd Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) Annual Exhibition in Dublin.

In August 2026, his massive 48" x 36" topographical study of the iconic Tynan’s Bridge House Bar in Kilkenny City was prominently featured by The Kilkenny Art Gallery during the Kilkenny Arts Week Festival.

This new painting features in the Kilkenny Art Gallery 2 collection which is now on view at their ‘Kilkenny Arts Week Exhibition’ located at
45/46 High Street, Kilkenny in the Dore’s Optometrist building.

The Kilkenny Art Gallery ‘Arts Week Festival Exhibition’ runs from the 6th - 16th August 2026 and is open daily from 10am - 6pm.

The main Kilkenny Art Gallery located on 25 Patrick Street is also open for the duration of Kilkenny Arts Week Festival.
