Design & Crafts Council Ireland Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) is the national agency for craft and design in Ireland.

Design & Crafts Council Ireland promotes the commercial development of Irish designers and makers, stimulating innovation, championing design thinking and informing Government policy. DCCI's activities are funded by the Department of Trade, Enterprise and Employment via Enterprise Ireland. We provide a range of programmes, supports and services for designers and craftspeople, learners and teachers

, retailers and gallerists, shoppers and collectors, media and partner organisations in order to raise the standard and profile of Irish design and craft. Our activities are funded by the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation via Enterprise Ireland. We currently have 64 member organisations and over 3,500 registered clients. Applications for the David Shaw-Smith Legacy Award 2026 are still open, and the deadline has been extended to the 29th June.

We are also delighted to share few key updates:

- The award funding has been increased
- An additional five applicants will receive Project Support of €2,000 each
- If you have previously won a DCCI award or bursary, you are still eligible to apply

Inspired by childhood memories of olive oil and traditional soap making, she creates handcrafted soaps using natural ingredients sourced from Irish farms. Blending Syrian heritage with a love for Irish nature, each product is made with care and authenticity.

There is still time to apply for our short course in Micro Pavé and Castelle Setting.

This intensive five-day course provides a comprehensive introduction to gemstone setting using a microscope and GRS power-assisted gravers.

This course is open to both DCCI members and members of the public and is suitable for professional goldsmiths, jewellers and industry bench-workers.

This course is delivered by David Wilson, a Kilkenny-based goldsmith with over 20 years of experience working at the highest level of his craft.

📆 Date: June 29th – July 3rd 2026 from 9.30am – 4.30pm

A reminder that Future Makers 2026 is now open for applications. We're looking for Ireland's brightest student and emerging makers.

In 2026, the programme includes a €38,000 award fund plus a €26,000 mentoring investment, bringing the total support to €64,000.

All category winners also receive a mentorship package valued at €1,000, providing professional guidance alongside their financial award.
