The story of Limerick's Canal District

Our recent blog tells the story of two murals commissioned by the Absolute Hotel - one outdoor and one indoor.

💙 The outdoor mural tells the story of Limerick's historic Canal District which lay just across the Abbey River from the hotel.
Research on maps, images and documents give an insight into a lively area lined with river barges, lock keepers, Guinness and carts. Not content heavy, the focus is on the place .. offering an invitation to find out more using QR code links

🧡 The indoor mural reimagines a sketch by Jane Hogan Artist commissioned by the hotel. It offers a warm and inviting welcome to the hotel and fits the narrative beautifully.

Delighted to share our blog post A Tale of Two Meeting Rooms where we share insights into a wonderful collaboration project.

Telling the story of the Shannon Scheme in these rooms seemed right for a number of reasons, particularly given the upcoming centenary celebrations.

Ardnacrusha is 100 years old and still captures the imagination 💚
We included some historical pieces which are particularly interesting.
