With colder weather on the way, now’s the time to get winter housing sorted before the animals come in.

Agriland is advising farmers to:
✅ Get scraper and cubicle maintenance done
✅ Clean and disinfect sheds
✅ Check you have enough cubicles before housing

🌱 Is your soil getting what it needs?

A recent Teagasc survey found that 60% of drystock farms have soil pH below the optimal level, and lime spread in the first half of 2026 was down 42% on 2025.

The Teagasc Signpost Programme's advice is clear: now is the time to spread lime. On drystock farms it returns €7.50 for every €1 spent, which makes it one of the best-value inputs on the farm.
