I think one of the strangest feelings in life is outgrowing a version of yourself you thought would last forever.

For me, that was playing football. Training during the week, matches at weekends, boots always in the car. It wasn’t just something I did, it was part of my identity and honestly I loved that chapter of life.

But at some point, without any huge dramatic moment, something slowly shifted. My intentions changed, my goals changed and what I wanted from life started changing too & I remember feeling really uncertain during that phase because when something has been part of you for so long, stepping away from it can almost feel like losing yourself a little bit. You end up in this weird / strange in-between stage where you don’t fully connect to the old version of you anymore, but you’re not fully clear on the next version either.

I think a lot of people quietly go through that in life. Career changes, relationship changes, friendship groups changing, wanting different things out of life & becausee there’s no roadmap for those transitions, it can feel lonely at times.

But one thing I’ve learned is that uncertainty doesn’t always mean you’re going backwards. Sometimes life is just moving you into a new chapter, sort of an evolution that you will one day look back on with a completely different lens.

For me, training became one of the biggest anchors during that period. Not because it solved everything overnight, but because it gave me structure, routine and something positive to control while other parts of life felt uncertain.

So if you’re in one of those phases right now where life feels a bit uncertain and you’re questioning where you’re heading, don’t panic.

Sometimes the uncomfortable feeling isn’t because something is wrong necessarily, it can simply be growth happening in real time.

For those in there 30s, Here’s how to NOT achieve FAT loss in the next 3 months…

🙂 Keep saying “I’ll start properly Monday” every single week.

🙂 Eat like a saint Monday-Friday so you can absolutely self-destruct every weekend.

🙂 Convince yourself you “have no time” while spending 3 hours a day on your phone.

🙂 Follow meal plans so strict they make prison look enjoyable lol…

🙂 Let one takeaway turn into:
“Sure the week is ruined now.”

🙂 Keepp waiting to feel motivated before taking action. Hard truth, you’ll be waiting a while for that train to arrive.

🙂 Believe getting healthy means never seeing your friends again.

🙂 Copy 22-year-old fitness influencers with zero stress, zero kids and unlimited free time.

🙂 Continue treating every holiday, birthday, BBQ and night out like a personal attack.

🙂 Say “I know what to do” for the next 5 years without changing anything.

🙂 Burn yourself into the ground with junk volume then wonder why you always rebound.

🙂 Keep thinking your problem is laziness when really it’s lack of structure, vision & clear boundaries.

Truthfully?

Most don’t fall short because they’re incapable.

They are inconsistent because the plan they’re following doesn’t fit real life.

And if you’re tired of constantly starting over, you probably don’t need more hassle in your life let’s be brutally honest here.

You need strategies that are achievable and will actually SAVE you time and energy in the long run.

I honestly think a lot of people don’t struggle with their health because they “don’t care enough”

I think a lot of the time they’re just mentally exhausted.

Busy jobs, high Stress, cycles of very sleep and Constant pressure to always be “on”

Further to that trying to balance family, work, social life and somehow still find time and energy to look after themselves properly too.

And after a while, health becomes something people keep putting to the bottom of the list.

Not because they don’t WANT to feel better necessarily but because they feel overwhelmed trying to figure out how to make it all work in real everyday life or worry it will just take to long/time to incorporate it.

That’s why I think some coaches often get this wrong.

Because most people don’t need more pressure, peppering with endless ebooks, guilt or logistics.

They need simplicity.

Better structure around food, more realistic routines, better balance around weekends.

And an approach that actually fits around real life instead of fighting against it or consistently feeling like your battling against the odds each week just to tick boxes that you don’t even know is working for you in your own specific circumstances.

Because once people finally build consistency around normal life everything changes physically and mentally.

Very proud to say my clients Rachel and Amy had this penny dropping moment very recently and are very much now well on their way to a completely new life opening up for them.

There was a stage in my life where stress and gut issues genuinely affected my confidence & Performance massively.

Back in school especially, I dealt with really bad IBS, constant stomach discomfort and a lot of underlying stress that, looking back now, I probably never properly dealt with.

And honestly, unless you’ve struggled with digestion before, it’s hard to explain how much it can affect your energy, confidence, self-esteem,training sessions/efforts and overall quality of life.

But over time, through learning more about nutrition, stress, training, sleep and overall health, things slowly started improving.

And one of the biggest things I learned through all of it was this:

Your gut, food, stress levels, mindset and confidence are all deeply connected.

A few lessons I still carry with me today & really hope if you are going through this now these can be of benefit:

1. Stress affects the body more than most people realise.

2. Your gut and mental health are linked.

3. Feeling healthy is about more than just aesthetics

4. Sleep and recovery genuinely matter. It’s no BS.

5. Movement can completely change your mental state especially when you understand the right fuel.

6. Food should help you feel better, not constantly anxious.

7. Confidence often starts internally before externally

8. Most people are silently struggling with something so appreciate that and act accordingly.

9. Your biggest struggles often become your biggest lessons. This was one for me and you don’t have to feel this way forever.

10. Sometimes the body is asking for a different approach, not more punishment or excess. No wonder you feel s**t or your body feels off.

Honestly, a huge reason I care so much about helping people now is because I know what it feels like to not feel good within yourself physically.

And I also know how much life can change once you finally start addressing the root cause instead of constantly fighting against your body.

🛑 FYI: The biggest mistake some people make when trying to lose weight or drop bodyfat is thinking they need to suffer their way there.

Most people already know WHAT to do.

Eat better and sustain a calorie deficit, move more & be more consistent.

But where some people struggle is trying to fit all of that into a real life that already feels busy, stressful and mentally draining.

That’s why I honestly believe good coaching isn’t just about calories or training plans.

It’s about helping people build confidence, structure and momentum around THEIR lifestyle specifically.

So they can still enjoy weekends, social occasions, go out for meals & frankly still have a life…

while actually progressing physically and mentally at the same time.

The goal was never perfection.

The goal was building a healthier lifestyle they could ACTUALLY maintain long term and the results started to follow naturally after that 👊

A lot can change when you stop trying to “all or nothing” your way through health and fitness.

And honestly, that’s the approach I’ll always stand over most when I’m on my last breath 😅

One of the hardest parts about improving your health isn’t losing fat…

It’s constantly feeling like you’re starting over again.

You feel motivated, you start training, you try to clean everything up, but then life gets busy, weekends happen, stress kicks in and slowly you drift back into old habits again.

Before you know it, another few weeks have passed and mentally you feel like you’re back at square one.

And honestly, I think a lot of people become hard on themselves unnecessarily here.

They think they lack discipline, when in reality most people are simply trying to force an approach that doesn’t actually fit their real life long term.

Because if your plan only works when life is ideal, it’s probably not the right plan being totally frank & honest ( lol )

The people who usually get the best long-term results are not the people avoiding social occasions or trying to survive on restriction Monday to Friday.

They’re the people who finally build balance, structure and consistency around a normal life.

An approach where they can still enjoy weekends, meals out, holidays and time with family… while also feeling healthier, more confident and more in control of themselves overall.

Because imagine how different life could feel a few months from now if health and fitness no longer felt like something you constantly “failed” at.

More confidence, an abundance of energy, better routines, self belief and more importantly peace of mind Mr, Miss n Mrs…

That’s what sustainable progress actually gives people.

And honestly, I think that’s what most people are really searching for 👊

One of the biggest mindset shifts people need heading into summer is realising that health and fitness should improve the quality of your life not shrink it.

A lot of people think getting in shape means avoiding meals out, stressing over calories, cancelling plans or feeling guilty every time they enjoy themselves socially.

But honestly, the people who usually get the best long-term results are the people who learn balance.

The people who can enjoy a meal out, enjoy a glass of wine, enjoy social occasions and still stay consistent overall.

Because confidence isn’t built from isolating yourself from life. It’s built from knowing you can enjoy life without completely losing control of yourself afterwards. Just like Maria who had this penny dropping moment recently in the program and john too, only last week I might add.

That’s the difference.

Most people don’t need more restriction heading into summer as let’s face it you’ve been there done that a thousand times already!

They need better awareness, healthier habits and a more balanced relationship with food &
themselves. All starts in my eyes, with a positive mindset and willingness to step outside your comfort zone :)

One thing I think stops a lot of people from properly committing to their health is the belief that getting in shape has to completely take over their life.

That if they want to lose fat, feel healthier and feel more confident in themselves, they’ll have to spend hours in the gym, cut out social occasions, eat boring food and sacrifice all the things they actually enjoy.

And honestly, I understand why people think that because so much of the fitness industry still pushes the always “on it” approach.

But the reality is, the people who get the best long-term results are usually the people who build health and fitness around their life not against it.

Shannon single mother of two inside the program had this very penny dropping moment recently as a lot of it comes down ti self belief of what’s actually possible.

Especially busy men and women trying to balance work, kids, relationships, stress, social commitments and everything else life throws at them.

One of the biggest things coaching should actually do is save you time mentally and physically to do the things you actually love to do.

Instead of constantly overthinking food, second guessing yourself, trying random plans online, starting over every Monday or feeling guilty every time you enjoy yourself socially… you finally have structure, clarity and a plan that actually fits your real life.

So instead of fitness becoming another source of pressure in your life, it actually gives you more freedom, more energy to be present with your kids, holidays and all that good stuff in just 3/4 hours per week if you do it correctly.

In turn bring more balance, better routines and more peace of mind knowing you’re finally moving in the right direction again.

Because the goal isn’t to make your whole life revolve around fitness.

The goal is to improve your health, confidence and mindset in a way that actually allows you to enjoy your life more & save yourself time and headaches every week.

Just working away here on a simple MyFitnessPal guide that I genuinely think will help a lot of men and women lose body fat, build confidence and feel more in control of their food heading into the summer months ☀️

One thing I’ve realised is that a lot of people massively overcomplicate fat loss.

They think they need to completely cut out foods, eat perfectly or follow some mad plan when in reality most people simply lack awareness around calories, portions, weekend habits and consistency.

That’s why I wanted to create something simple, realistic and easy to follow that helps people understand food better without becoming obsessed by it.

I’m looking for a few testers 😊

If you’re wanting to lose fat, improve your relationship with food , take control of your calorie intake and feel more confident in yourself over the next few months, message saying “TESTER” and I’ll fire it over.

No catch , just let me know afterr a couple of days how much it helped with your awareness around food, calories and overall structure 👊

Speak soon :)
