Initially led by experienced networkers (Breffni May and Jimmy Sheehan) the Lucan branch has bonded and gelled into a strong community of business owners and managers, determined to improve themselves and their businesses. There are a variety of professions within the group, including painters, interior designers, photographers and solicitors. Each member has gained from their membership, with an
amazing €75,000 worth of business passed around in referrals in the first six months of setting up. Participation within the meetings is encouraged, and has helped in personal and professional growth. There would be certain individuals who have gained significantly from the B2B and from the public participation it encourages. The roles of chairperson, administrator and educational coordinator have been filled with ease at the end of each term, such is the drive and commitment shown by each member for active participation within the meetings. At the Lucan B2B, personal as well as professional relationships have been forged. There is a key focus on the social aspects, with regular social nights organised to help in this aspect (the idea is that you do business and refer business to people you like). Certain members now work together on projects. These relationships would not have formed without the Lucan B2B. Meetings take place every second Thursday at The Lucan Spa Hotel, and despite the early time of 7.00am, each meeting is well attended by 20+ members each fortnight.
