This month we have a local artist who lives and has his studio near Lissarda. Jack Cornhouse is a well known landscape artist and portrait painter who takes commission work not just of people but also of animals. You can see more of his work at www.jacksartstudio.ie or you can contact him directly at [email protected]. Jack is closely connected to the Independence Museum in Kilmurry where ten years ago he was commissioned to undertake a painting which was presented to President Michael D Higgins. Just three years ago, he donated another larger life size painting of Kate O Callaghan TD to the Museum where it is now on display. Talking of displays, some of Jack's landscapes and urban scenes will be included in his current exhibition here at Art...on Main Street for the month of August.
