Carton Rural Consultants Advisors for the People, Protectors of the Countryside. Agricultural Environmental and Rural Consultancy practice based in Midlands. that he received in 1992.

Carton Rural Consultants was established by James and Anne Carton in 2003. James had worked in the Agricultural consultancy sector since 1995 with the Philip Farrelly & Co., Agricultural Consultants organisation and at the time of leaving was a partner with Philip Farrelly in the midlands Agricultural Consultancy practice- Meath Westmeath Consultants. James Carton is a graduate of UCD and his primary qualification is an honours degree in Agricultural Science (B.Agr.Sc.) To complement this award, James has taken further studies and his other qualifications include a Diploma in Environmental Impact Assessment (Dip. E.I.A, mgmt.) studied at the Smurfit Business School in UCD, a certificate in sustainable Rural Development, and a higher Diploma in Adult and Community Education(H.Dip. Adult and Comm Ed) from NUI Maynooth. He is a member of the Agricultural Consultants Association (M.A.C.A.) which is the professional body supporting independent Agricultural Consultants, providing advice to the agricultural industry. Carton Rural Consultants operates primarily in the centre of the country with offices located in Mullingar Co. Westmeath and Granard Co. Longford. We work on behalf of private individuals, local businesses, semi state agencies and Government Departments.

Beef Welfare Scheme 2026 Open!

Rate of payment:
Action 1 – Meal Feeding (Mandatory): The rate of payment is up to €35 per eligible calf up to a maximum of 45 eligible calves.

Action 2 – Vaccination (Optional): The rate of payment is up to €15 per eligible calf up to a maximum of 45 eligible calves.

Action 3 – Faecal Testing / Forage Testing (Optional): The rate of payment is up to €25 per eligible calf up to a maximum of 45 eligible calves.

Payments will commence to cleared cases in December 2026.

Applications must be made on www.myagfood.ie or though your Agri Advisor.

The closing date for applications is 17.00:00hrs on 23 September 2026.
