FREE mattress disposal (check it for money before dumping it)
Date: Sunday, 6th September 2026
Location: AES Recycling, Silliot Hill, Kilcullen. 8:30am to 3:00pm

Bring unwanted mattresses for free disposal during this one-day event. The amnesty provides a convenient and environmentally responsible way to dispose of old household mattresses.

Please note:
This event is for mattresses only.
Double, single and triple mattresses only will be accepted.
Maximum of 6 mattresses per delivery.
No other waste or bulky household items will be accepted.

The event is not open to commercial or charity entities and is restricted to household customers.

Divans, pillows, bed frames, foot stools, couches, armchairs are not accepted.

Are you clearing out your wardrobe now that the seasons are changing?

If you have 5 items (max) of unwanted clothes in good condition, then bring them along to Tallaght Library for our Adult Clothes Swap!

Tomorrow (Tues, 1st Sept) is the last day to drop off your clothes in exchange for swap tokens, then you can bring your tokens to the Clothes Swap in Tallaght Library on Sat, 5th Sept between 11am and 12.30pm and use them to create a new look!

Thank you to all

25 dolls, 2 fully stocked wardrobes, an ambulance, a bag of doll furniture, 65 soft toys...All of these were unwanted and no longer being played with.

Thank you to the lovely girl, M, who gave me the ambulance this week..

Now after a wash, dry, soak, comb, brush, mend and dress up they are being collected tomorrow and will be on the next shipment to Romania where they will bring plenty of smilies

Every single item including wool for knitting was unwanted & unused so delighted to take it from you & give it a home xx

The best part? All the beautiful items created by our amazing volunteers are donated to local nursing homes, day care centres, hospitals, and Meals on Wheels services, helping to bring comfort and smiles to people throughout the community.

Food Bank challenge 120 items over June, July & August Nenagh Community Food Bank .almost got there ..had to add 6 items as I won't be in town today to cash in cans etc...But that still makes 114 items FREE from tossers , store points from .ireland and some coins found on my walks..
7 packs pasta
12 packs noodles
7 packs spaghetti
4 packs stirfry noodles
3 rolls kitchen paper ( thanks to clinic 😉)
2 packs baby wipes
1 bottle of soap
9 packs sanitary pads
1 pasta bake
28 tins of food
2 packs tampons
12 packets of soup
2 boxes cuppa soup
11 packets of sauce/ casserole mix
6 packs biscuits
4 packs nappies
5 shampoo
2 conditioners
2 baby bath

Thanks to M who passed on 2 items for me to donate .

There are food banks & women's shelters & animal rescues all over this country who are seeing an increase in costs & in demand. If you dont need your store points could you start a bundle of essentials, food etc to donate, even if it is one bag a year..

Nenagh's playground next to the public swimming pool has 4 if not 5 public litter bins and yet some parent/babysitter left 2 used nappies& wipes in the park by the skateboard ramps.
There are no words for how disgusting some humans are..

( I had no gloves so couldn't pick them up..hopefully the council will see them when doing their rounds)

Tossers, Lidl Ireland points & freebies, and I added on the €5.50 in loyalty points from Holland & Barrett to the fund. Not much in that shop for a food bank so thought best spend that on myself & use it in Lidl.

Nenagh Community Food Bank opens this Thursday for Sept. Anyone needed a helping hand or wanting to drop off some food, it is open 9am to 11am Loreto House.
It opened the first Thursday of every month.
