Back on site today at the new Cahir Library! 📚

Excited to see the transformation of the historic Craft Granary Building in Cahir really taking shape. At almost 200 years old, this stunning building is set to become a modern, sustainable and energy efficient library.

The completed project will deliver some fantastic facilities, including a Podcasting Room, Makerspace, Robotics & 3D Printing, Gallery, Meeting Room and Sensory Room.

It will be protected by an Ampac Europe FireFinder Plus Fire Detection & Alarm System with Apollo Fire Detectors throughout together with

✅ Wagner MicroSens Air Sampling Detection within the lift shaft

✅ Vox Ignis Solo Range Disabled Refuge Communication System

Great working alongside Consultant Engineers Delap & Waller and Walden Electrical Contracting on this landmark project.

🔥 Project Update: Centre of Excellence for Ceramics, Thomastown, Kilkenny 🔥

were back onsite today ahead of commissioning the Fire & Life Safety Systems at the Centre of Excellence for Ceramics, Thomastown.

There’s something really special about being part of regeneration projects like this and seeing historic buildings get a new lease of life while retaining the character and features that make them so unique.

This former Bank of Ireland building in Thomastown is being transformed into a Centre of Excellence for Ceramics, helping to bring a new purpose to an important part of the town’s heritage.

And honestly… how incredible is that door?!

The building is now protected by a Hyfire Wireless Fire Detection & Alarm System and Ignis Disabled Refuge System, bringing modern Fire & Life Safety solutions to this beautiful 19th century build.

Can’t wait to see this one over the line!

When it comes to Fire & Life Safety, there’s no one-size fits all solution!

It’s been a busy few weeks at Guardian, with several school projects nearing completion ahead of the return to school.

This summer, we were fortunate to work with some wonderful local schools, NS, Kilkenny and Horeswood NS, Wexford - two very different schools, two very different requirements.

What they do have in common is our approach, expertise, and discipline to deliver the right solution every time.

From design through to installation and commissioning, we look beyond today’s project with consideration for the client’s needs and what might be required into the future.

At Bennettsbridge NS, we upgraded the existing conventional control panel in the main school to an addressable FireClass FC501. This allowed us to extend cover to a new modular building while integrating existing devices and creating a pathway for future upgrades in the main building.

At Horeswood NS, we replaced an ageing conventional system with an intelligent addressable solution using the Ampac FireFinder & Apollo detection and signalling devices. With a tight installation window, the latest Apollo technology helped us reduce installation time without compromise.

🔥 MONTHLY FIRE SAFETY FOCUS – with

This August, we are encouraging you to make your monthly extinguisher check part of your first-week-of-the-month routine💡

It’s easy for monthly fire safety checks to slip down the to do list and a lot can happen in a month.

Take a few minutes this week to check your extinguishers. Are they

✅ In the correct, visible and accessible location
✅ Securely mounted and properly signed
✅ Free from damage or corrosion
✅ Showing the correct gauge reading (where fitted)
✅ Fitted with the safety pin and seal
✅ Within their required inspection/service period

And don’t forget to record your checks in your Fire Safety Register.

Continuous improvement is all about investing in people.

Last week, our Fire Extinguisher team completed their Lean White Belt Training, facilitated onsite by Ian from SETU Lean Industry 4.0

In addition, the team completed a hands-on process mapping session, where they brought great energy, engagement, and collaboration to the table. Together, they identified opportunities to improve how we work and identified a number of follow-up actions that will help us deliver an even better service to our customers.

A big thank you to Ian for sharing his expertise and to our team for embracing the mindset. Small improvements, made consistently, lead to big results. Looking forward to our next steps!
