Protecting a piece of Ireland’s Camino Heritage 💚

Fire Safety works are now underway at St James’s Church, Dublin 8, a landmark with a special connection to the Camino de Santiago and Ireland’s rich tradition of pilgrimage.

is installing a new Fire Detection and Alarm System which will protect the main church building and adjoining hall, integrating the Advanced MXpro system, Hyfire Wireless Fire Solutions Ta**us Evolution and Fireray Hub reflective beam systems.

The solution is designed to provide effective, reliable fire detection while minimising disruption and preserving the character of this wonderful historic building.

⭐️ Project Spotlight | CME Irish Rail, Inchicore Dublin 8⭐️

We are incredibly proud to have completed the refurbishment and upgrade of the Fire & Life Safety Systems at Irish Rail, (CME) Main Office at Inchicore Railway Works, one of Ireland’s most significant railway engineering sites.

Established in 1846, Inchicore has played a vital role in Ireland’s railway history for generations. Today, it remains a key engineering and maintenance hub for Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail, supporting the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the national rail fleet. This project helps modernise the office facilities while respecting the importance of this historic working site.

The scope of this project included the supply and commissioning of

🔹 Vox Ignis Solo Disabled Refuge Communication System

🔹 Advanced MxPro 5 Fire Detection & Alarm System with Apollo devices

🔹 Wagner ProSens Air Sampling System

Today we are celebrating ! 🎉

At Guardian Fire & Safety, being certified as a Great Place to Work Ireland means more than a certification to us — it’s about creating a workplace where our people feel supported, valued and empowered.

One of our highlights of 2026 was introducing and upskilling our Mental Health Ambassadors. We now have four trained colleagues ready to offer a confidential, non-judgemental listening ear and help guide team members towards professional support resources when needed.

This , we are talking all things Visual Alarm Devices (VAD's) and what’s changed in Irish Standard 3218:2024

Did You Know?

Irish Standard 3218:2024 has moved away from the option to assess the type of visual device used in a Fire Detection & Alarm System (FDAS)

What does this mean?

The new IS3218:2024 regulation requires that any device used as a visual indication of an alarm must be a VAD (Visual Alarm Device) and does not allow for the use of standard beacon or indication devices.

A standard sounder beacon or VID (Visual Indication Device) was allowable under the preceding regulations unless the device was the primary source of indication of an alarm. In that case, it was required to be a VAD.

Under the revised standard, there is no allowance for supplementary indication, therefore all visual apparatus must now VAD's. If standard VID’s are used then the system under IS3218:2024 is considered non-compliant.

enjoyed a great afternoon recently stepping away from the day-to-day to celebrate our people, our achievements and what makes Guardian Fire & Safety such a great place to work.

Taking time to connect, have fun and celebrate together is something we really value… especially before we head into what promises to be a busy Autumn schedule!

A big thank you to Emma and our Social, Health & Wellbeing Committee for organising another fantastic event, and to Wexford River Cruise and The Farmer's Kitchen Hotel for hosting us.

We missed those who couldn’t join us but you were very much part of the celebrations in spirit. 🎉
