With a compatible EV charger, electricity generated by your solar panels can also be used to charge your electric vehicle.

From roof space to home energy.
A look at another completed EnergyServ residential installation.
This home now has a 9.2 kWp Solar PV system, comprising 20 × 460 W panels together with 10.2 kWh of battery storage.
The system has an estimated annual generation of approximately 8,740 kWh.
But the important part isn't simply the number of panels.

Combining Solar PV with appropriately sized battery storage can allow a household to store available energy for later use, giving homeowners greater flexibility in how they use the electricity generated by their system.

Every home is different, which is why system design should consider the property, available roof space and how electricity is actually used in the home.

Did you know? Not all the electricity generated by your solar panels is used in the same way.
When your solar PV system generates electricity, there are three possible ways that energy can be managed.
1. Used directly
Your home or business can use solar-generated electricity to power appliances, lighting and equipment while the panels are generating.
2. Stored for later
If your system includes suitable battery storage, surplus electricity can be stored and used when needed, such as later in the evening.
3. Exported to the grid
Electricity that isn't being used or stored may be exported back to the grid, where the system is configured and permitted to do so.
Why does this matter?

Because understanding how much electricity you use directly, store or export helps you understand how your solar PV system is working for your property.
