Pub Watch Galway will be a partnership where licensees, bar and security staff unify as an independent group to preempt crime and anti-social behaviour in licensed premises through our radio network across Galway City.
Pub Watch Galway will help in promoting good practise and help supporting local licensed premises which can make a real difference to improving the safety of people working and socialising in our city.
Pub Watch Galway will operate on a hand held radio somewhat like the ''Garda TETRA system'', our radios have no range limitations. Each licensed premises in the City would have a radio for direct communications with all venues and premises in the City to advise of any troublesome individuals that may be in the city or general updates, this would we hope help in reducing crime and anti-social behaviour within the City at night time.
Main Objectives of Pub Watch Galway
*To tackle and prevent anti-social behaviour through effective communication and the prompt reporting of anti-social behaviour and criminal activity.
*To promote a sense of security for customer's and staff.
*To improve garda / licensee liaison by providing effective communications through Two-way radio system.
*To help in reducing insurance claims.
*To promote Galway City as having a safe city at night.
*To be Pro-Active rather than Re-Active.
We have received the full support from An Garda Síocháná, Galway City Council, Galway Vintners Association, The Latin Quarter & the Purple Flag in regards to this new initiative for Galway City.
