Bamboo might be perfect for creating screening & privacy in gardens but the plant can cause trouble if its not monitored. Bamboo is an invasive plant that is highly aggressive and is actually one of the fastest growing plants on the planet. Its root system is made up of rhizomes with its tips shaped like bullets, that can run horizontally below the surface. Because of its ridgid roots and stems it has the potential to be more damaging to properties than Japanese Knotweed.
The photos show a recent Bamboo root removal job that I completed where the roots spread throughout the top section of the garden and underneath the concrete footpath around the house.
