From FRS operator to running his own farm 💪

We’re delighted to see Connor Wynne featured in the Irish Farmers Journal “My Farming Week”, a brilliant milestone in his journey from working with FRS Farm Services to now leasing and managing his own farm.

Connor’s story is a great example of what’s possible with hard work, experience on the ground, and the right opportunities. He built his skills across different farms and today, he’s putting that experience into practice on his own operation.

At just 16, Conor Wynne started relief milking with FRS.

While completing his Green Cert, he continued working weekends on farms, gaining valuable experience along the way.

Today, he’s leasing the very farm he once worked on and is now in year two of a seven-year lease, calving down his own herd.

A great example of how opportunity, experience and determination can shape a journey into farming.

In case you missed it, our 2026 FRS Operator Survey reveals what farm workers across Ireland really value and it’s not always what people expect.

✔️ 80% prefer flexible working hours
✔️ 50%+ want shorter commute times
✔️ 56% say higher wages are a top priority
✔️ Clear communication ranks as one of the most important factors on farms
✔️ 9 out of 10 farms now rely on external labour support

The takeaway is clear: attracting and retaining skilled people starts with understanding what matters most to them.
