Last Friday, our IEM Programme hosted a Career Communication & Competency Development Workshop at the National Surf Centre, Strandhill, facilitated by Michael Kilcullen of Cรบ Chulainn Consultancy.

Participants explored their professional strengths, practised the STAR interview technique and developed their confidence in preparing for job interviews.

A huge thank you to Michael, the National Surf Centre and all our participants for making it such a successful session!

Our clients enjoyed some well-deserved foot care with Kasia from PediGo, who visits the centre once a month to offer professional foot care treatments.

From nail trimming and shaping to cuticle care and hard skin removal, Kasia provides a range of treatments to help keep feet comfortable and feeling their best. โœจ

Clients can avail of this convenient service during her monthly visits, enjoying a little extra care and attention right here at the centre.

Our WorkAbility Peer meet in the Garden continues with the final meet for October next Tuesday.
We had a lovely gentle morning of connection with various activities depending on persons choice.
Some people choose to tend to the garden and water in the polytunnel.
Some choose to do some rock painting.

We also listened to some beautiful relaxing sounds from an instrument called a Calimba.

It was great to attend the LDCN National Conference 2026, bringing together leaders, practitioners and policymakers under the theme Bridging Policy, People and Place.

The conference highlighted the vital role Local Development Companies play in turning national policy into meaningful local action, supporting communities, building partnerships and creating opportunities across Ireland.

A lovely day out and a trip down memory lane for our Ballymote Day Centre clients! โค๏ธ

Today, we visited Higginsโ€™ Lounge in Culfadda, a place full of memories for many of our clients who remembered it as the place to go dancing at the weekends! There was plenty of music, dancing and craic, bringing back wonderful memories and lots of smiles.

We also celebrated two special birthdays โ€“ Matt Burkeโ€™s 97th birthday and Community Garda Taraโ€™s 50th birthday. ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‰

A big thank you to Higginsโ€™ Lounge for the warm welcome and a fantastic day out. Thanks to Garda Tara and the Clasp buses for helping make the trip possible and ensuring everyone had a wonderful day.

What a wonderful afternoon at the Family Well Fest in Ballymote! ๐Ÿ’š

We had a fantastic time on Saturday at Ballymote Family Resource Centre, with activities for all ages across the Ballymote community.

There was something for everyone to enjoy, from boxing and arts and crafts workshops to Pilates and a relaxing sensory corner for when it was time to take a break.

Parents also had the opportunity to get their blood pressure checked and receive healthy lifestyle advice from the nurses at Croรญ, the Heart and Stroke Charity. โค๏ธ

A big well done and thank you to everyone involved in organising the event and making it such an enjoyable afternoon for families in the community.

On 3rd October, the clients of Ballymote Day Centre celebrated a very special milestone as Gladys Hannon marked her 90th birthday. Gladys was once known as the Baroness of Ballymote, making the occasion extra special!

A big thank you to Margaret Curley for the beautiful birthday cake, and to the musicians who helped make the celebration so memorable ๐ŸŽถ
